Is anyone taking this class? I was wondering if all of the classes did presidential outlines..

Maybe it's just our school. Our teacher gave us this thick packet of important events that happened during each president's term up through Reagan. We have to fill out information about each president's educational/occupational background, opponents for each term, election issues, vice presidents, and party affiliation.

Then we take the events for each president and research each one as well as categorize them into domestic/foreign/social/technological. Then we write a thorough paragraph on a major conflict from each presidency followed by an evaluation essay and the works cited.

We have one each week and James Madison is due tomorrow. So far, they have ranged from 12 to 18 or so pages double spaced/typed.

And the essay is worth half of the entire outline, which sucks because it's always the last thing I do on Tuesday night (they are due on Wednesdays).

I have a C right now I think. I got a 78% on the first unit test for the multiple choice, and my teacher told me today that I did well on the essay portion.

1 paper a week- 12-18 pages.......
That is Bull f'in' ****

How does your teacher expect you to do that, your other school work and life? (Life being- job, famly responsablity, etc...)

Good Luck with that class

It's not that hard...we just have to research and write a lot down. The downside is that they are only worth thirty points each.

APUSH was my favorite class in high school. I guess it helps when your teacher breaks a desk on the first day of class. We had one in class essay and a test on every chapter. And our teacher graded us on the AP scale on everything, which was SUPREMELY nice! Still, he managed to pull off two consecutive lectures entitled "Jackson was Right" and "Lincoln Was Wrong", and made them both entertaining and not offensive in any way. Would that I have a teacher like that in EVERY subject!

Sounds like my Government teacher. He was supposed to teach AP US this year, but he apparently was going to go to another job and it didn't work out or something. Still, the class has helped out a lot so far and I feel like I've learned a lot in this first month.

None of you must have had it like my school does it...because it's probably one of the hardest courses at my school.

ryan - World or U.S. history?

Magikarp - You're taking government now? I took that two years ago. We never had an AP Government class, but a few of the smarter people got to take the ap government test.
