Is anyone taking this class? I was wondering if all of the classes did presidential outlines..
Maybe it's just our school. Our teacher gave us this thick packet of important events that happened during each president's term up through Reagan. We have to fill out information about each president's educational/occupational background, opponents for each term, election issues, vice presidents, and party affiliation.
Then we take the events for each president and research each one as well as categorize them into domestic/foreign/social/technological. Then we write a thorough paragraph on a major conflict from each presidency followed by an evaluation essay and the works cited.
We have one each week and James Madison is due tomorrow. So far, they have ranged from 12 to 18 or so pages double spaced/typed.
APUSH was my favorite class in high school. I guess it helps when your teacher breaks a desk on the first day of class. We had one in class essay and a test on every chapter. And our teacher graded us on the AP scale on everything, which was SUPREMELY nice! Still, he managed to pull off two consecutive lectures entitled "Jackson was Right" and "Lincoln Was Wrong", and made them both entertaining and not offensive in any way. Would that I have a teacher like that in EVERY subject!
Magikarp - You're taking government now? I took that two years ago. We never had an AP Government class, but a few of the smarter people got to take the ap government test.
