Ah Empoleon Lv. X

To put it short, Empoleon>Lv. X.
4-4-4 Empoleon is the way to go if you want to play Speed Empoleon or any Empoleon for that matter.

Overall, it's a decent card though.
140 HP for Lv. X ain't bad. Hydro Impact is great, BUT it has a huge drawback that it can't be used next turn. Supreme Command can be great too, hindering your opponent's hand. BUT for a stage 3 all these things just really don't shine that much. It takes too much time, cards, and energy to be of too much use, especially when regular Empoleon pwns so much more.

Unlimited: Yeah right
1/10

Modified: Can be useful in the right deck, but I would much rather play straight Empoleon.
5/10

Limited: Pulling this and the other stages is REALLY unlikely, AND pulling it at the right time too.
4/10

The only reason you would ever want this is to use Supreme Command after you win a TGW. The snipe for 80 is decent, but you would have to Switch/Warp Point/Mantine to run away next turn since he cant attack. By itself this card is horrible, but when aided by cards such as the previously mentioned, Empoleon X can be not bad. Ky00ber is right that using this lv X means you have to run no Cessation Crystals (which are usually a strong point of Empoleon decks).

7/10 (in the right deck)

6/10 otherwise

Personally, I like Empoleon Lv X. His Poke-Power, Surpreme Command, randomly renders 2 cards for your opponent unplayable for one of their turns basically; combined with TG's Wager or something like Ambipom's Charity Tail or other hand-discarding attacks and you can really put the pressure on your opponent. 140 HP is a slight, 10 HP improvement from your regular Empoleon. He only has a +30 Weakness to Electric, unlike the MT Lv X cards which bear a 2x Weakness to whatever, and he still keeps a Retreat Cost of 2. Hydro Impact is his unique attack, dealing 80 to any 1 of your Opponent's Pokemon, but then being unable to attack next turn, which can be bad. But of course, you should only be using this attack in the appropriate sitautions anyways, as Empoleon Lv X can still use the regular Empoleon's attacks as well.

Modified - 8/10 (A considerable option for Empoleon decks, if anything for the added HP and Poke-Power)
Limited - 5/10 (If by some miracle you can pull the rest of the Empoleon line, feel free to use him. Otherwise, he makes a great addition to your binder until you can trade him or get him into an Empoleon deck)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Who uses Lv Xs here anyways?)

It is all right. here are the Pros and Cons:

Pros:
Is probably the best sniper ever, in terms of damage output
Has a lot of HP
Weakness isn't too bad
Has a decent PokePower
Retreat cost is adequate
It levels up from a good stage 2 Pokemon

Cons:
It takes a while to get out
Empoleon decks usually play Cessation Crystal, nullifying the Lv.X's PokePower
It takes ALL water energy to use it's attack
It doesn't have a resistance.
Can go a full turn without attacking

This card is all right. The only thing that kills it is the part about not being able to attack for a full turn! >_<

Modified: 5/10 just play empoleon, this would make an all right tech though

The best Empoleon decks right now play 4-4-3 lines anyway, regardless of the Lv. X. I think this is a nice little card that can add a big snipe when needed. Remember just because that empoleon can't attack next turn, doesn't mean you can't use his power, retreat for somthing to keep the damage piling, or usiing the attack when it's going to get KO'ed next turn. I don't get all these comments saying "you can play cessation crystal in your deck if you run him". That's nonsense. So what you can't use your 1 power, they can't use any of theirs, heck, you could supreme comand away a windstorm if your lucky, drop a cessation and you get it locked in for a turn. Very nice for empoleon decks.

Getting a good team Galatics wager hand, then cutting their hand to just 1 is also a potentially game changing play. Play 1 to give your Empoleon decks a little diversity.

Modified 8/10

if you gonna play 4-4-3, you may as well just slap it in for the 10 hp and mega snipe ability. but 4-3-4 is the play right now.

No man 4-4-4 is the play or 4-4-3 because prinplup has to be maxed out because he gives the deck the snipe ability to hit all pokemon in play.

Empo lvlX has solid HP, Ok power, Good attack for some situations, ok weakness and retreat cost(mantine).

Modified 7/10
Limited 8/10 hard to get, but good when get it.

Artwork

The artwork on the three Promo tin cards if really fantastic. My kids are drooling over all of them. (Who knows what Christmas might bring!)

The scans do not do these cards justice.

^No, toreterra is sick and magmortar is such a better sniper (and will be alot better with that new magmortor). This card isn't worth the deck space most of the time.

this is the worst lvl x made yet

And yet, it was the game changer in both of my Top 4 Matches today...In the finals, it kept 2 cards that my opponent need 3 turns in a row, and comboed with some nicely timed bench-sniped KO's. Yupp, its the worst Lv X made yet....

Seeing as how the card worked more for me, than against me and helped me win a BR with only 1 loss, deserves a rating of 8.5/10

lolganium, if you're not going to post anything constructive about the card or even review it properly ("it sucks" is not proper format last I looked) , kindly stop posting here.

Empoleon Lv. X

When it first came out lots of people were thinking of ways to play it especially with lots of infernape in the format. Now it seems he really can't do alot. The only thing he'd be good at is after you win the galactics wager. His weakness is good for a level X. solid HP. Retreat's not good unless your running matine.

Limited: 9/10 if you can pull him
Modified: 5/10
Unlimited:-3/10

Empoleon X has one use. Adding some extra "oomph" to the Empoleon deck by threatening that 80-on-whatever-you-want thing, making him able to eliminate certain threats that hide on the bench. It's not what you should build your deck around but its kinda like Infernape X - It gives a handy shot mid-game.

Limited: 10/10 - Good luck getting the line though.
Modified: 6/10 - Just add it to your Empoleon deck and see how it works.
Unlimited: Lol/10
