So I bought a Ps3 today

I bought a Ps3 today and I wanted to say, what’s all the negative hype about? Currently, the games I own for my Ps3 are War hawk, F1racing, Resistance fall of man and NBA LIVE 08 and I think they are all great games. The biggest highlights of the system I would say is its power, and it really comes in handy especially for online gaming. The gigabit LAN port really reduces lag especially in War hawk.

Well, I guess what I am trying to get at is; a lot of people insult what they can't have so be your own Critic, I did and found out that this system is amazing. Sure there are some games for the system that I have no interest in but all games systems have that. If you ask me, the PS3 is the way to go!

I'm not saying the PS3 is a bad System, Or even the X-box for that matter. But i'd prefer the Nintendo Systems over any other system any day. Granted, Nintendo games are geared more for Kids. But when you have young kids, the last thing i need is a system with a lot of blood and guts kinds of games. Not to mention i hate the controllers for both systems. I feel i have to stretch my hands out to reach all the buttons. Add the fact that it's way cheaper to get. Now some may argue that the Wii doesn't play DVDs or CDs, big deal. I already have a DVD player, and a CD player, why spend extra for something i already have? Plus, i'm buying a GAME System, not an all in one Entertainment System. Online Play? who cares. I enjoy playing games that are one player games anyway. I like RPG games, but not Final Fantasy type. More Zelda based RPG, except for the Multiplayer versions. I'm not here to bash anyones preference on systems, only putting in my 2 cents on this System Battle. Bottom line, No one can win at these Game System battles. Many argue that CPU power is more important, but if the games don't drive the sales, CPU power means nothing. Same with Graphics, Play Value is more important to me, than the Graphics will ever be. I mean if the game sucks, then Graphics means zilch.

Guys for the record I now have all 3 systems. I should also mention I am not a fan boy anymore, so I don't take sides on game co . The beauty of having all three major consoles is I can enjoy each systems exclusive games.

As for the Ps3 being a bad investment or what you guys say "A waist of money", is really a fan boy answer, and doesn’t have any empirical evidence that the Ps3 is a bad system.

I only disagree with your online play statement. With today’s modern gaming, it's a standard feature (it should be) for any game that even has a multiplayer because well, it makes the game last longer or keeps it from collecting dust in the corner. As for the whole Wii motion thing, IMO it's cheap V.R and after some time with it I said to myself, I can't bring myself to using it again, at least for sports games it works well. I just wish Nintendo just gave us the option to use the classic controller in certain games i.e. Zelda.

the only reason why the ps3 got all the negative hype was because of the price (which has been lowered) and the lack of good ps3 exlcusives, sure they have a few good ones out there but nothing thats going to sell the system yet.

give the ps3 a break here people it's only been out for a year and the 360 has been out for a while now so of course it's going to have a bigger, better game library but was there anything unlike the ps3 launch when the 360 launched....no. As for the Wii yea it's the cheapest system out there, and the most family friendly but it also had a system seller in zelda when it launched.

I also believe as a marketing strategy, Sony made a big blunder by releasing the Ps3 so soon. Think about it, the Ps3 is selling more units now because Blue ray is now catching on, not just for movies but for disc formats in general. As a developer, more disc space is such an important thing. Don’t think so? Wait and see what exclusive content the PS3 will have over some 360 games due to lack of storage*(beings to cry)! Look at the history of the Ps2; it sold so many units why? Affordable DVD player;Ps3 sells more units now, why? Affordable Blue ray player!

I'm convinced HD-DVDs will beat Blu-Ray as far as major commercial formats go.

As for your recent PS3 purchse though, uh... enjoy your Halo 3, I guess. I can't think of anything else worth playing on that system, at any rate.

Halo 3 is for the 360...

But you are right, deckmaster, alot of people knock stuff before they even try it.At least half of the nintendo fanboys here who boo the 360 have never so much as played an in-store demo with it. ;p

I've wanted to try Lair and Resistance for some time now,and I'd love to play alot of ps2 exclusive sequels personally.

... ****ing ****.

To try and save face, I was merely saying that he should go back to Halo 3 after wasting all that money on a PS3. Yes, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I most definitely did not post without thinking. I posted only with careful consideration and you're just being silly for not seeing my great genius.

Really. ;_;

Saying PS3 is a waste of money isn't fanboyism, that's closer to saying something like "olol ps3 suxz0rz compared to nintendo" PS3 is a waste of money because its price is too high for a system that doesn't have enough interesting exclusives, now granted, the only thing good about the Wii is its exclusives, and even then most of it is weed on your grass that needs to be ripped until you find the few games, but to its credit it does have VC and a much lower price. Still, I think the 360 reigns supreme because of its Arcade which is amazing, and many of its titles, especially exclusive (Halo 3, Gears, Kameo, Too Human, etc) push it over the edge in this war.

The rip on the PS3 has been twofold. First, it was the excessive $600 pricetag for the decent version. Second, it was the blatant lying that Sony told us about certain aspects of the system, such as the controller not being able to have rumble built in. No. Rumble is not that important of a feature. Gamers don't like being lied to by the companies they support. Not to mention the incredibly lame gaming library for the first ~9 months of the system's existance.

The PS3 has many problems and its not fanboyism talking, the sales speak for themselves. I mean how many SKU's does the PS3 now have in less than a year?

The only reason it gets any sales are all is brand power, the PS2 was the best selling system last gen not even the gamecube and xbox combined could get close, everyone loves the playstation and playstation 2, but even with all that Sony was able to screw it up.

The system has a few pro's but it has more than enough cons to make them irrelevant. Consoles are driven by exclusives, and with the high development cost of HD games not to mention the lack of PS3 sales almost all third party games are now multi-platform. Also compared to the 360 the PS3 is not that much more powerful as the 360 has more memory, making them about even powered. Not to mention Xbox Live. Its cheaper now but many features have been taken out so unless you bought the $600 version you are now getting a gimped system when it comes to backwards compatibility.

As far as HD wars go, neither format is going to win, remember Super Audio CD and DVD Audio? most people don't either. Blu-Ray seemed to have an advantage but they just lost two studio's again so its back to being even, people are not ready to switch to a HD format and sales prove it. If any format actually won it seems blu-ray would.

I'd say that Blu-Ray is catching on because PS3 has been out for a while.

I'd say it’s mainly due to the price. Blue ray drives for your computer, still go for $1000.00 and some blue ray players are at least $700.00

Except for Nintendo gamers, of course. They're lied to about release dates for their systems' biggest games on a regular basis, but they keep coming back.

Ohh I agree with you a 100%. I was once a huge Nintendo fan boy but I stopped around the Lame cube era. Why? Well I should mention, I am a hardcore Resident evil fan, and Capcom/ Nintendo promised remakes of Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 with better graphics. Honestly, that was the only reason I bought the GameCube and when I found out that Resident evil 2 and 3 were the same old thing, I brought me cube to Game stop and sold it. I was furious that Nintendo lied again but still, it wasn’t their first time. Nintendo D.D anyone?
