Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

So I bought a Ps3 today

Well I dunno about anyone else, but here's why I'm still avoiding a PS3. I have a wii and a 360 at home. I've been trying to play those in my free time while still trying to finish the million or so rpgs on my old ps2 and my ds. When I see a PS3 exclusive, I have to ask myself if it's worth paying 700+ for me to play that one game. When I see another good game, I have to still play about 400 per game. Even though it decreases, it'll take me a long time for me to justify playing the game on PS3, when I can wait for it to become multiplatform and play it on my 360/wii instead.

Guys for the record I now have all 3 systems. I should also mention I am not a fan boy anymore, so I don't take sides on game co . The beauty of having all three major consoles is I can enjoy each systems exclusive games.

As for the Ps3 being a bad investment or what you guys say "A waist of money", is really a fan boy answer, and doesn’t have any empirical evidence that the Ps3 is a bad system.

I only disagree with your online play statement. With today’s modern gaming, it's a standard feature (it should be) for any game that even has a multiplayer because well, it makes the game last longer or keeps it from collecting dust in the corner. As for the whole Wii motion thing, IMO it's cheap V.R and after some time with it I said to myself, I can't bring myself to using it again, at least for sports games it works well. I just wish Nintendo just gave us the option to use the classic controller in certain games i.e. Zelda.

Online play does not mean a game will be played more.

I am personally a x-box/nintendo person but I have had the opportunity to play the PS3 and I will definately say it is a great system which it should be with all of todays technology. I mean the only way these companies will survive is by upgrading their systems almost every 1-2 yrs or they are obsolete. I mean look at the x-box and ps1/2 they are both nice systems but don't even compare to the 360 and PS3. I myself have always like x-box and have stuck with it(have to with almost 150 games between the x-box and the 360), I am sure I will never buy a PS3 as that is just my personal preference ,not that i couldn't afford it, I'm it is a amazing sytem as I know the graphics definately rock! Have fun with your new system.:thumb:

Well, I'd have them all to if they were cheap. Unfourtunately that is not the case, so I ended up buying a Wii. Luckily I enjoy Nintendo Software a lot. Have fun with your PS3, it doesn't really matter what others think so much. My uncle bought one and it's graphical powers are beyond anything I have ever experienced. But that doesn't instantly make it greater than all. Each system has its pros and cons like anything in life.

PS3 is like SUPER expensive. and i think the games for ps3 arent gonna be anything near cheap too.

X-360, has better games like DOA/HALO 3 and is cheaper...

I'm deffently gonna geta Ps3 now because my 360 broke.

RED RING!

Microsoft is real good about exchanging 360's that have had that. They even extended the warranty a year, which you should look into.We had it happen once with our console, but the fan we bought for it induced it when it was removed.

You serious?

About the only positive thing for PS3 owners that I can think of (that sucks for the rest of us) is at least you get FFXIII whenever it comes out. Honestly, I'm surprised Squenix hasn't dropped Sony yet...

No, but they have dropped all pretense at exclusiveness. Revenant Wings and FFTA2 are both for the DS, and if I'm not heavily mistaken they're also making a KH game for the DS.

They also occasionally try to get Nintendo to agree to a Wii version of FFXI. That's never going to happen (largely because of licensing issues—the capacity to run it is there), but the fact that they've made that attempt says something.

For the DS, Square has this coming out soon:

A KH spinoff
FF4 (yes, again, and I'll still stupidly buy the thing)
FFTA
FF12 Revnant Wings
DQ9
DQ4
DQ5
DQ6

All of these are slated at least for Japanese release before the end of next year, if not American release. Is Square looking to become Nintendo exclusive again? That'd be sweet...

FF4DS adds far more than the typical remake. Their estimate was that the original FF4's script/events comprise literally 25% of what they're having in FF4DS, because the SNES' limited capacity made them axe a lot of material.

I wouldn't so much as say the PS3 is a bad system, especially since I loved the N64 more than the XBOX and PS1 and 2, and people could easily argue that the N64 was crap. However, I think the people in charge of the system have made some VERY poor choices. The price just for starters.

As for having actually played the thing:
1) Resistance: Fall of Man is a nice game in co-op, but it has some major... majorly bad storyline elements that could easily have been fixed. Major.
2) Rainbow Six: Vegas is a nice game, but it did feel a bit cramped once you got to the casino levels.
3) Warhawk is awesome, I do admit. The game is just loads of fun, specially on the split screen where you have a partner.
4) Unfortunately, the system heats up and locks up far too easily. Living in an area where pretty much all of the systems are the launch systems, as little have sold from then till the rerelease of it, all the bugs were still in it, if not still in the new ones. A system, no matter what system, Wii, PS3, or XBOX should be able to manage its own heat output safely without you having to go buy an expensive cooling unit. We have to constantly keep a fan on the freaking thing to keep it from conking out. Even then, while loading up Warhawk, 15 minutes after turning on the system, the PS3 froze.

Anyways, thats my two cents. However, I'm absolutely looking forward to Rock Band next week and Star Ocean 4 down the line.

EDIT: Erp.. meant 15 minutes, not 5.

Locks up and runs hot? Nawwww. My brother was playing the system all day, and nothing of the sort happened. Prolley just a defective system... Every game company has those...

Like I said, the PS3 he got was from the initial run of PS3s, even though it was purchased months later.. And history notes that all PS systems, though I wouldn't know about the PS1 as I didn't care back then, have major bugs in the first batch or two at least. Not to say all of them do. Luckily the lockup only happened once that early. The rest of the time was only after an hour or two of gaming.
