Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Yep it happened...

I don't think it can die if it hasn't lived yet. And it hasn't.
You really have to wait for it to get OP before it can "live" and subsequently "die".

The game needs to be more complex for a lot of players to get involved. Also, 40 figures can get boring really quickly. The other fact is that there is really no rarity definately doesnt help players get invovled IMO.

I think the quality of the figs has hurt it too. My boys were excited for its release. We waited through the delays, etc. and then dropped a bunch of money to get some sets. Some of the figs broke right out of the package. Others broke at weak points. Yes, we were careful. Yes, I was offered replacements but I'd have to mail in the broken ones. Well, for that time and money I could just buy the replacements but we decided not to put any more money into it.

I still hope that there is some OP for it. We'd try it out if our schedule permitted. Toting everything back and forth will be a challenge though even more than preparing a family of 4 for a TCG tournament.

I honestly don't know what's everyone else's problem with the figures breaking.

I have 15 figures so far. None of them have broke at all.

Maybe there were good lots and bad lots or more likely that some figures are weaker than others due to design. We have a bunch from the UK that we never had an issue with but unfortunately I cannot say the same for all of the ones that we purchased locally.

It is still going strong here in Salt Lake City. Every week for an hour or so before the Pokemon TCG League that I am a Gym Leader at we hold a TFG League that everybody joins in. I personally am not too strong of a fan of the game, but I support it because my attendees like it.

I've had 3 or 4 break so far.
Been able to glue & fix all but one of them.
I do hope later sets are more durable.

Take a close look at some of the boxes on the shelve. At one store 4 ho-oh's were already broken.
David brought his to a few Br's and cities but didn't get to much of a chance to play. Guess thats the downside to making top cut.

well at the tourney I just won....
three people dropped out for no reason...
OK one said I didn't want 2nd again and the other got a round loss because we could not find him, and he dropped....
The other was with the guy that dropped....
And the worst part is that I am lending out figures to 4 of the people that are playing...

The game hasn't yet really had an opportunity to catch on properly, with many tournament players avoiding it until we get real complete tournament rules. I just hope they don't dump the game before it even gets the chance to take off.

I just wish they didn't require you to buy two packs to get random figures. One can only have so many Zangoose, Eevees (Haha, -I- said that?), Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Salamence in comparison to other figures before it gets rediculous.

The game isn't dead, it just hasn't event started. Its still too early to even call it that the first set was just released,.

Counting there is no OP of any kind you can't really measure its popularity, everyone who I've taught the game has liked it a lot. there is just nowhere to really play at the moment.

The lateness of the release hurt it. They had momentum built after Origins and that was blown completely. My store heard that Groubdbreakers was delayed until early next year while Wal-Mart released them some weeks early, so there is some distributor confusion too.

The game does seem simplistic after you've played it a while the the fascination with the figures wears off. Groundbreakers not having a new arena is a disappointment. The current one is too doesn't offer a lot to the game. Groundbreakers also gave us 4 reprint trainers - boo! 2nd set and we already have reprints. The game needs to allow more trainer cards too to increase any complexity. Due to confusion in the rules, we've been playing with 6 at league and even then it's limited.

There needs to be some OP for this game. It looks like the figures were put out to milk Pokemon's recovering popularity. Leagues have a built structure already but instead of using it, they want to build a new structure. Telling people there is no OP for the game and current OP refuses to support it hurts the game.
