You can probably tally up how many points you can get from the events left over before Nats and figure out where you will be at the end of these events and pray, I suppose.
You forgot about trick plays with Revive for your single Mewtwo EX. Like Super Rod + search, it's a really convenient way to punish an overextending opponent.
I'd tech Mewtwo EX into Terrakion simply because an opposing Mewtwo EX + Eviolite can mess up your game.

Induction would tell you Eel is the best deck. Stats would tell you that 114 Eel decks won out of how many hundreds played? 400 or 500, maybe more? I wouldn't be surprised if Eel has an abysmal win percentage, but still steam rolls it way into top cuts and wins because of sheer numbers. If I was...
By this logic, I shouldn't have made the top cuts I did with my non-Eel, non-Celebi deck. Also means my teammates playing Typhlosion and Truth wouldn't have made top cuts.
Just because it's widely played doesn't mean it's good.

My deck is the most expensive in the format. All full arts and foils.
My deck aside, you can probably make a very valid argument that Mewtwo EX is narrowing the format and making something close to 80% of current modified legal cards obsolete.
