Starting the game, placing basics, and mulligans

From what I understand, if your opponent mulligans once, you are allowed to place 1 (?) additional Pokemon to your Bench, after placing your Prize cards but before the coin flip. Is this correct? I am assuming the number is 1 if you drew 1 extra card, 2 if you drew 2 extra cards, etc... but your...

    Pokemon Database?

Where are your scans located AnUnown?

    Pokemon Database?

I'll replace the Japanese scans whenever my source uploads English scans of Plasma Blast. There is no way to exclude duplicate search results unfortunately; I wanted to add that functionality but couldn't figure out a good way to do it. It's a lot easier to do that for a card game like Magic...

    Pokemon Database?

Sorry, I didn't have the advanced search page updated. Should be current now. This is the search you wanted in your initial post: http://pkmncards.com/?s=c%3Ac+f%3Amodified+s%3A1&display=card&sort=date There are different sorting and display options too.

    Play! Points.

That's a fair question and I don't have an answer to it. I just know for years Nationals was open to anyone, and to me it seems like the Play Point requirement came as a knee-jerk reaction to all the first round drops 2 years ago. Maybe that incident was coincidental and an entrance requirement...

    Play! Points.

What if the "swag" was handed out at the end of the end of the first day instead of before the tournament? That would fix the problem of no-shows and encourage people to not drop early on (which would further fix bad resistances and increase the integrity of the event). And I still think a $5...

    Play! Points.

If that is a ballpark number, then I guess so. I don't really know how to define where the cutoff is to maintain the integrity of an event. That would have been about 10% of the first round matches (assuming it was around 1,000 players). What is the issue with players having their first round...

    Play! Points.

Couldn't that have been handled differently? Like in hindsight, was that the right move to repair? I thought the rule was that if a player doesn't show up for their round, they get a loss. (And I think it's fair to say if you miss your first round at Nats, you should also get dropped.) At what...

    Play! Points.

    1. Some people don't live in areas with much OP. 2. For people with other commitments/priorities, it's still a lot. That's a minimum of 5 tournaments to travel to, which some people can't afford (time-wise, monetarily, whatever), but they would take a weekend off to attend Nationals. Is there...

    Play! Points.

I'm pretty sure States were always 3. Regionals were 5 last year though. And the entrance requirement got bumped up to 15 from 10 last year. I have a few friends that would go to Nationals if there was no minimum Play Point requirement (since they are busy with school/jobs now and have other...

The lack of communication between Japan and the rest of the World

It'll never happen unless the video games are released at the same time. Nintendo wouldn't want new characters released through the card game before the video game. The anime may figure in as well, but I'm not sure.

    Photos from US Nationals

Sure thing! I remember a few years back there was someone on here who would take a bunch of pictures (which I very much enjoyed), but they haven't been able to make it out recently, so I thought I'd try snapping a few photos. It was fun "capturing" the weekend!

    Play! Point display

I am actually not a professor (I helped staff events but didn't judge). How would I see the list otherwise?
