Actually, they went BW1-on during the 2011 Autumn Battle Carnival the year before. Which I think was the point they started the Battle Carnivals. The Spring of 2011 was also when they rotated to HGSS-on.

I can't say it did or did not, because I haven't seen a decklist from the player. The older players (older than your typical Japanese Elementary student) would have to play in the Open League that is for all ages. No deck list as of right now. I'm also going to be posting up the Top 2 deck...

If we are looking at Landorus EX by itself then yes. Landorus EX paired with many other Pokemon is very relevant as well. Once I get to a comfortable amount of matches I could probably do a count of how many times a certain Pokemon has shown up in the many deck combinations.
