Help me here: once you earn 3 wins in the Challenge Series, you go immediately into the Premier Series? How are pairings done?

--You are allowed to change decks or cards. However, you are not allowed to do so during your win streak.
How is the prohibition on changing decks during a win streak checked? Because you can change your deck at any other time, it doesn't sound like a deck list would be very useful.

--If a game results in a tie both players are awarded a lost.
No sudden death?

Every time I read this it makes me wish we had tournaments like that here. :frown:
The grass is always greener on the other side :thumb:

This could be a possible way to handle tournaments in the future. Battle Roads are CC-sized now. Top cut being removed from them makes them less time intensive. Imagine this system where you tell players "We start at 9am. You need to have X number of wins in a row to make it to the next stage, and then those players need to have X number of wins in a row by to make finals. Finals admission closes at 1:30pm." If they stay true to the timeline, 9am-4:30pm, that sounds better than the 10am-8pm timeline I expect from small events now.

You play the next available player or wait for another player to be available (either from a current game or a new player from the previous stage).

This might be better answered by someone who actually participates, but what I'm assuming is that the staff deck checks you before you enter the area for the stages, and before that point you can decide whether or not you want to make any changes to your deck. Staff should also be watching the matches going at all times as well to ensure that you have someone to play after each match.

No sudden death?

Pretty much. Although, ties are very rare to occur anyways, and I doubt players would be incline to declare or force a tie during this since it doesn't benefit them at all unlike internationally where it was pretty beneficial to declare a "tie" in the past (at least how I remembered it).

Yay! Information!

*reads thread*

I understand not having ties, or at least I think I do given how their tournament structure goes. Of course, I don't think I'd want that tournament structure here; it seems to explain far too much about the game's direction. I'd be less worried about game balance and more worried about faster cards if it was all about racking up wins and I had the option to switch decks.

The side event aspect sounds great, however. Also, thanks to RestlessBob for this information, and the results; I am interested in seeing how the lack of Ether may affect our results (though I guess I should focus more on some older events since we don't have Plasma Gale either.

were any Plasma Decks played at the event?

So far, I don't know quite yet. Only the decks I listed were reported back. Once I get more information I will report back. I actually heard of a few Garbodor decks popping up. One in particular was a Garbodor + Victini EX + Torandus EX + White Kyurem EX (Boundaries Crossed) + Keldeo (Boundaries Crossed 47)

Yay! Information!

Yeah, as far as Battle Carnivals are concern, with the win streaks being implemented decks are usually more speed oriented in hopes of racking up wins. The highest win streak ended up being 6 for this Battle Carnival. Although, outside of Battle Carnivals, it is a similar ball game to us at a local level where they can just play a few rounds and possibly do top cut if their shops oblige to do so.

Always a pleasure doing this. I'm pretty interested as well how Cities are going to shape up for us with the lack of Ether.

A few players are starting to write blog posts now, Klinklang + Cobalion EX also saw play. A Ho-Oh EX variant was played as well. There also seem to be a Tympole Promo card that went unlisted that also shown up.

There is some pictures from the event that players took themselves and uploaded through twitter. I can search through twitter and get them linked when I have time for all to see.

Am I right that that's pony deck had Tropical Beach?

I can't say it did or did not, because I haven't seen a decklist from the player.

How does it work with the older divisions? Is there even a division for older players?

The older players (older than your typical Japanese Elementary student) would have to play in the Open League that is for all ages.

Is there a deck list for Blastoise/Keldeo?

No deck list as of right now.

I'm also going to be posting up the Top 2 deck lists here shortly.

Please correct your post

Hi, it's reply from Japan.
There is wrong in your post, so please correct.

The deck recipe introduced as Junior Reague 1st (Landorus EX + Mewtwo EX + Bouffalant) is not true.
That is just played in Japanese non-official tournament by Open League player.
There is same kind of Pokemon in both recipe, but there is no relation between two decks.
As long as I know, the true recipe is not revailed by anyone.

The blog owner of http://enozaguma.diarynote.jp/ is confused by so many access from the topic.
I took message, and post it instead of him.

Thank you.
