Awesome News!

Props to PUSA for this more than fair ruling. While it should make obvious business sense to listen to your customer base, some companies just don't seem to get it. My hat is off to PUSA!

does this mean every1 is gunna stop crying tears of sour grapes and start crying tears of joy?
hooray
no more crying
"no women no cry"

good desion pop

6 is still a bit low, but I guess theres not much to do to change it AGAIN. They really should have just not changed their no limit rule for 1 more season.
W/e though, better than nothing.

Yup, this is indeed a good rule amendment. Moderate use of foreign cards was always the intent of the old rule, IMO.

Hopefully, this rule will stick around for a long time because I like buying a box of Japanese cards for each set. Plus, it seems kind of ridiculous for TPCi to give out multi-language promos/boosters at Worlds if those cards can't ever be used in tournament play.

Thanks TPCi for listening to the players and easing-up on the total ban.

I really wonder what they'll give away at worlds :/
Last year the spanish boosters were soo awesome, they really made my day. *drools at his spanisch reverse claydols*

SteveP: I believe it is mentioned that the amendment was valid for next season only AND only covered japanese cards up to the release that occured in Japan at the time of TPCi's announcement of a total ban. So, the grandfather clause is limited and the foreign language cards you buy now won't be covered on the future sets!

in talking to OP: it was stated that JP PL4 and later sets cannot be used next season.

planning on buying current/upcoming JPN sets will just get you in the same situation people have been complaining about previously...

Okay, shoot, just let me go out and spend 110 dollars on precon decks to get 60 of each. Screw booster packs. Why would I want to put that money into booster packs with a lot more variety when I can have basic energy.

Why in the world would you want 60 of each basic energy? Given that you'd want to run 4 Special anyway, 10 of each is MORE then enough. So why spend 110 when 20 would cover ALL of your energy needs anyway?

I don't know how that's going to be managed.
Staff will not only have to look for a certain amount of JP cards, but also figure out what set they came from?
What about something like Defender, which is a reprinted card. Can an old card from the old JP base set be used but PL3's version not be used? Note: I just noticed that it will be PL4+, but the point is the same with a card reprinted in that set.

I've got to agree with Mike on this one.

Also, I didn't read the new rule before I made the comment about buying a few Japanese boosters each set. Apparantly, the total-ban still looks like a go for 2010-11. Oh well, I was personally hoping for a more enduring ruling for moderate use of Japanese cards. 6 cards seems like a very good compromise.

Apparently, the original ban was NOT strongly influenced by disruption as many of us had thought. Rather, it was an attempt to force us to invest more in OP.

OUCH!!!

I originally believed this was mostly about disruption and NOT money. I feel mislead.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

It still feels like a money grab.
DITTO!!!

I couldn't agree more, now!!

I don't. I knew from the start what it was really about. So... exactly why were we lied to? Really, if you want to say that you need to make more money then fine, say it. But to give some really lame weak excuse about them causing too many problems? :/
