NAGOYA — A theme park based on the famed Japanese animation and videogame character Pokemon will open along with the 2005 Aichi Expo, event organizers said Wednesday.

This will be the world's first Pokemon theme park, based on the animation program featuring a variety of "pocket monsters" that has been aired in 68 countries and in 25 languages, they said. (Kyodo News)

I can just see over a thousand animatronic Pokemon characters singing a song similar to "It's a Small World"... This was bound to happen sooner or later!

Leave it to the Florida guy to get the theme park news. ;)

Should be interesting. Will it have giant robotic Pokemon like in The Island of Giant Pokémon? ;)

Yoshi- You know, I hope so. Giant robotic pokemon would definitely be worth visiting ;)

Giant Venusuar? Blastoise? yep....lol

have an attraction called the most intellegant pokemon conversation ever:
It will show a slowpoke talking to a phyduck. :D LOL

I would love to see the park when its built. Cant wait to hear more news on it.

OK, this is DEFINITELY on the to-do list, even if it ends up sucking. I mean, a Pokémon theme park. That's just... 'nuff said.

WOAH.

A Pokemon theme park. What a world.

Are we perhaps getting close to another fad stage, not unlike the original? (Well, I doubt anything'll be quite like the original fad stage, but still) Pokemon still has to be pulling in serious money for them to build a Pokemon theme park.

I'd LOVE to go to this...especially since I believe there's a Pokémon Center in Nagoya, too...o_O

This is going to be cool!
I would travel all the way to Japan to go to this.
Or better yet...they can build a Pokémon Theme Park here in Florida where all the other best theme parks are located.

:D
