Yeah, I wanted to open up a thread to discuss combos for 2-2 play.... obviously most, if not all will be R/S EX and up... but there are a few older ones.... here are some of mine and a friends thoughts

Kabutops/Omastar- Both of the SK ones as actives, Opponet cant evolve...save for using Wally....

Umbreon or Slaking/Aerodactyl- Umb and Aero from SK, basically acts like a Muk EX, cept only against opponent...

Weezing/Cradilly- mentioned by someone here, but deadly.. also thinking of Weezing/Dragons Gyrados. Poison both active, then keep them ER'ed

SS Delcatty- 10x # of NRG on all active Pokemon..... also NRG draw R/S one gets better (10x # of NRG on your active)

Azumarril/Politoed- My friends idea... dump a load of NRG on the active 2, and go to town.....

Golem/Wailord EX- another of my friends..... Use DR Golems attack (does 10x # of damage on both your active) teaming the best HP of non EX with Best HP of EX.....

Plusle or Minum/Whatever (cept Muk EX)- attack plus remove damage....

How about...
-Azumarril and Omastar from Sandstorm? Use Azumarril first attack (Drizzle I think) and give the energies to Omastar.
-Holo Flygon and SK Steelix- Use Flygon's Energy Shower and give 4 basics to Skyridge Steelix. It would then be ready to attack instantly

Umbreon(Aqua) and any strong cards - Ruin your opponents hand with Umbreon's Poke-Power, then destroy opponents Pokemon with your strongest Pokemon Card.

I know one more.

Cradily/Cacturne - Cradily stops opponent from retreating while Cacturne can hit opponent's benched Pokemon for 40 damage, could kill a lot of Pokemon if hit 2 times.

new double rainbow gives makes Delcatty very good, and since you aren't using the double energy card to pay attack cost you don't get the -10 penalty ! Its still a nice way of avoiding the -10 penalty .

Any card with a decent poke-power that only works while its active. eg NidoKing.

[edit: corrected error on my part with Wild Growth Meganium. The power specifies that it makes a grass energy CARD provide :grass: :grass: So the new double rainbow would still only provide two units of energy. ]

please note, Wild growth makes 1 NRG card provide 2 NRG, not 1 NRG provide 2 NRG. Wild Growth simply makes Double Rainbow provide 2 grass.... dont belive me, check rulings, like with Base Electrode Buzzap power.....

How about Sharpedo/Arcanine/Cacturn/Claw Fossil decks.... and if it attacks both active Pokes, ouch.....

Here's another Idea i thought of:

Sandstorm Azumarril, Skyridge Steelix, and Aquapolis Espeon

This is kind of like the one i submitted before (Holo Flygon/Steelix) so just bear with me...

Use a benched Espeon's Poke-Power to return any energies you want back into your hand, use Azumarril's Drizzle attack, and then attach the water energies to Steelix. It might be a little slow, but its very effective.

Notice how the weaker Wally's trianing gains some ground on PETM... sweet....

For a flip, Dragons Gyardos has a great energy effecient/denial attack. Heads places a counter on each (or 10 to each, forget which, in the long run pretty much the same) and removes an Energy for each. for a mere W, it is plenty Energy effeciant... team with either R/S Weezing or SS Breloom, Poison and ER away....

Weezing/Cacturn/Cradily+Life Drain Kirlia
Poison the Active, then flip for Life Drain.
I don't know anyone play two Zangoose. The combo works for Gardy/Ex deck in 2-2. Although it needs two turn and require a flip, Life Drain can kill almost anything if it's poisoned. (Yeah, My Gardy Ex is killed this way)
With Cradily, you can psyshadow on the root fossil, as long no one attacked the bench, it will be safea and will recover from the damage. If it is knocked out, you only lost some energy.
If you add the infuernze Lileep, you can add Aerodactlye in your deck.

here is one i was thinking of

Firestarter Blaziken + Aquapolis Espeon

1. Use Firestarter to attach it to one of your Benched Pokemon
2. Use Espeon's Power (already forgot the name) to return it to your hand.
3. Attach it to the Active Pokemon

Hey Artos, first off, I belive it is simply called "Energy Return"... could be wrong.....

i lik ethe idea though... and with Delcatty in the mix, it is an abundant NRG Draw supply.

Interesting deck thought. Blazekin/Espy/Ray... hmmmm....

real sneeky Specs...taking my idea without me knowing it...good thing i got a patent...
okay, im kidding

Here's another Water Type combo i made up

2 Holo Swamperts/Wailord ex/Shedinja

1. Put 1 Swampert and Shedinja on the Bench and Wailord ex and the other Swampert as your active
2. Use both Swampert's Water Call Powers to attach an energy to Wailord ex, then attach another one from your hand on Wailord ex (hopefully, im not breaking any rules YET)
3. Use Wailord's Super Deep Dive, remove 3 counters and switch with Sedinja
4. On your next turn, retreat Shedinja, make Wailord ex your Active, and repeat Step one again.

in a few turns Wailord ex will be ready to attack at full power.

So SUE ME THEN!!!! lol... j/k... I am so poor you would loose money if you won anyways.... lol

and sides, all props on my BER thread went to you, even managed to edit your name to correct Spelling, lol

you all are forgetting the biggest thing that team play is popular for............. that beautiful stats and bench hitting

i think burn and poison will rule the stats while bench hitting will still be popular

i think something with kingdra EX and a stats type will really rule over all

remember that neo 3 kingdra/neo2 beedrill was a feared team deck in it's time

i'm sure that the big hitters will make an impression, but nothing is better than attackin the place that most believe is safe

There are some great cards already available.. I think Multi hitters Like Steelix/Aggron EX, and stat could do well. Also something like
Weezing(or Brelloom) with Cacturn and something ably to Damage bth actives, or both actives and Bench could do real well... and Brelloom can help keep Kingdra Ex at bay... 100 to it.... pLus the Poison.... Just watch out for Retaliate....

I think Golem + Wailord EX can do well, if played with the Big Explosion (???) Graveler (80 to all active), then use Golems Vengence(???) attack... while Opponent tries to KO the 2 big beast... some healing and all, plus Golems Bench hitting can make it viable....
