Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2 regionals rumor

Yay, we get regionals early :3 Heres to hoping they have another one in oregon when the regular regionals are *clink*.

i dont see the issue with ranking invites, the problem at hand is the calibration of k-value. at this point in time, citys is k-16 while states/regionals/nationals all have k-32.

essentially, total amount of rounds aside, playing in 2 citys (one weekend for most ppl), is the same as playing in one nats. some players have the ability to play in 15+ citys (thanksgiving weekend 4, december weekends 6, marathon 5, january weekends 2). with a ranking invite on the line, playing in 7-8 national-value tournaments is worthwhile to say the least. if the k-values were recalibrated such as citys being k-8 and nationals being k-48 or k-64, noone would skip nationals as itd just be too difficult to compete missing a tournament like that where other people are gaining too many points.

or just bring back the gym challenge. (this is my preferred option haha)

The problem with that would be those who can't go to nationals would have no chance at earning an invite, and players might just sit out all year and play nats. To earn the invite or ranking invite.....

I'd prefer to see Invites for Regionals =)

They should go like Japan- Only qualify through nationals/worlds qualifiers.
Whenever I go to japan most of the time at their smaller tournaments most players are playing semi competitive fun decks without the pressure of having to play super competitive decks for points.
Another solution wold be to have multiple (like 4) worlds qualifiers and a nationals. That way it is easier to get invite to those who can't go to nationals. (Because the worlds qualifier tournaments would be closer)

I think that two regionals split by itself without any other changes is almost as bad as having a MD-BW format.

Oregon is north of California and South of Washington State on the West cost of the United states. Indian is confirmed from my PTO.

I know about great lakes (hence my earlier post) And, I'm more than aware of where in the country oregon is. What I don't see is where people are getting the info oregon is in the fall.

Are you aware that it is a state though? :p

He said he didnt know where in the country it is...not where the country is.....>.<

Uhh...

Are you aware that it is a state though? :p

Umm...Yes

I guess I should elaborate a little on my earlier post since it seems to be causing confusion...

The post directly above it was-

Through the pokebeach main page it is confirmed that there will be regoinals on Nov. 12-13 in SoCal and Oregon.

My post was in reply to that. Bold words are what confused me. Pokebeachs main page had nothing of the sort, as far as I saw. So, I asked-

huh? Where is that on Pokebeach's main page? I only see "Confirmed for So Cal at this time"

Bold is what I should've had in there. I know where Oregon is {Not to mention the country ;) }but didn't see where on Pokebeach it said that.

HenryP replied telling me where Oregon is.

I replied saying, no I know where Oregon is, but I don't get where people were getting info about when that Regional's was.

Sorry for the confusion!
(P.S. Does anybody know where that info is )

I am fine with an extra Regionals. Especially with Europe having an extra 32k event. It levels the playing field for us here in North America.

They're in a different rating zone, so it's kind of irrelevant... besides which, we are at no disadvantage with our gargantuan nationals and large number of cities...

A K=32 event early in the season will serve to stabilize ratings faster. You will get through the rating dispersion that usually happens during States and Regionals before Cities. This will tend to eliminate the "more I play, higher I go" phenomenon.

the gorn is wrong. there will be a second regional in florida. thats what i heard.....

So because it is something that you heard it is a fact? Also, you do know that the ONE post that he made was supposed to be sarcastic, right? Sarcastic meaning not serious. I sure hope you're being sarcastic. =/
