Tournament entry is FREE!

Registration and Start Time
Registration opens at 9:00 am; Reg. for Round 1 closes at 9:50 am

The State Championship begins at 10:00 am

How to Sign-Up and Play
Arrive onsite no later than ½ hour before the tournament start time. Thank you.

Please allow enough time to fill out your decklist prior to Registration — download it now, fill it out, and bring it with you! You will need to turn in both your registration slip (available onsite) and decklist (downloadable here) at Registration. Also, please rememeber to bring your POP ID. Thanks.

Prizes
The top 8 finishers in each of the three age categories receive the following prizes:

1st Place

• Pokémon TCG State Championship Trophy
• $300 Travel Stipend to the 2006 US National Championships at the Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio (the player must attend Nationals to collect this stipend)
• Prize Bag
• Four-day admission to the Origins Game Expo in Columbus, Ohio
• Combination of 36 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

2nd Place

• Combination of 16 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

3rd - 4th Place

• Combination of 8 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

5th - 8th Place

• Combination of 4 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions
Additionally, participants will receive a Pokémon TCG State Championship promo card, a commemorative State Championships pin, and two POP Series 2-card promo packs, while supplies last, just for playing!

Side Events

Booster drafts will be offered throughout the day and will consist of single-elimination rounds—$20 entry fee; prizes = 5 boosters for 1st, 3 boosters for 2nd, and 2 boosters for 3rd-4th.

Constructed tournaments will be available and will consist of single-elimination rounds—$5 entry fee; prizes = 5 boosters for 1st, 3 boosters for 2nd, and 2 boosters for 3rd-4th.

Team side events will be offered as interest warrants. Pricing and prizes presented onsite.

Tournament Structure
Age-Modified Swiss-style (1 game matches), with Top 4-16 single elimination (best 2 of 3 games) in each age group.

Parts of that are a conversation my sister and I were having.
I am optimistic of course about states coming and my chances at a 3rd trophy, others not so much. As I was trying to semi-portray above.

Californians I need your help Dragonstar is considering judging this event seeing as how someone else has the spot for our next prerelease. How'd you guys feel about him judging.

I can't say anything. I know where he stands on the whole states deal and the huge rant he made, so I have reason to suspect he could be bias. But I've never seen him Judge an event. I'll just say, if he decides to Judge, to not leave it in the past and just try to contribute and help the event run smoothly.
 
Anybody wanna give me a ride from LAS airport to the venue??? I might come in on Thursday night and stay through the weekend but if I don't do that I plan on arriving Saturday morning.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'll compensate you with packs. Something like 10 packs of Legend Maker for the round trip.

All jokes aside DStar is a good judge, but what you said above is what has him shacky on judging, as he know if he makes any ruling unfavorable to certain party they could say later it was bias, that is of course why we have head judges at an event where a player suspects bias, (which I know DStar wouldn't do) the head judge makes the final ruling.

who is this? i wont be able to play i have to work :( ..... im going to try to take the bus there after work too see how my cousin is doing thoulgh... it should still be going at 4pm right? i get off at 3 so considering the way the busses are im adding a hour before ill be there... ^_^
