Seemed like a good card, but nobody really wanted to make its flippy attacks work.

7/10 Its good, but just so non-mainstream.

Boy this card brings back memories.

Two seasons ago when this card was still new I decided to run it at States. I tested the deck for weeks and crushed everything I tried it against. The flips didn't always go my way but between spread and trainer lock it just rocked over the course of most games.

Then I actually played the deck at States. It bombed. I lost to EVERYTHING. I was literally loosing to random theme decks with potions. I never seemed to flip what I needed. If I wanted confusion I got trainer lock. If I wanted 50 to the active I got spread. I made a solem vow to never play this card again, even though I really like it.

6.5/10 ... it's just too flippy even if it seems like all the flips should be good in theory. It's lost some steam with Queen in format too. However Upper does help some.

I played this at Oregon states as well! I used it with Wigglytuff and Holon GL to prevent sleep myself. Was fun, but didnt do too well (went 4-3)

Haha I can just see someone playing a RR Shiftry and this card being the opponents active =P... That would be funny! Spread and Lock... Suks for them!!!

I would have to say maybe a 7/10 for it being an ok card and sometimes hitting 50 for 2, Retreat is horrible D= and weakness isnt to bad. Yeah 7/10.

I play this card. The Gorn turned me on to it. He top cuts with this card in Florida. That's saying something since Florida is very competitive. People get up and walk away from him during games. Amazing.

When I play Exploud, people come up to me during rounds just to tell me they hate Exploud. I won a BR with it last year. I've top cutted with it at various events, and another I convinced to play it also top cutted with it. We're the two Exploud entries in what won Fall 09 BR thread: http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=109675

Anyway, Exploud is so sexy. 50 damage to active or 20 spread as well as confusion or t/s/s lock. No other card has that potential for the energy cost. G decks fold to Exploud. Not to mention the opponent's annoyance with losing to Exploud. It's embarrassing.

Confusion shows up in odd places, but people are very unprepared for Confusion a lot of times which puts them in a bind and it is not all that bad. if you flip tails a lot instead of heads, after the 3rd turn of t/s/s lock, people get mad at you :frown:

It begs to have a go at Flygon, but Machamp, when levelled up, and Nidoqueen make it cry.

9/10 because you cannot fail with Exploud. Flip head or tails, you get a result. No other card offers the effects that Exploud does in this way.

It's been a while since I top cut with it (last year's cities) but I love playing it.

I like playing it with Omastar, but others prefer Amphy (turns off Poke-Powers).

I have problems with Flygon Lv.X and Palkia G. Most everything else is manageable, at least to some degree. Just don't panic. Keep flipping (hopefully you get a lot of tails) and you've always got a chance toward the end of the game.

The best part of Exploud - the rage quit. Like Tim/ShadowCard said, people get up and walk away. They won't even shake your hand after not allowing them to "do their stuff" for 4 or 5 times in a row.

You convinced me!?!? I had to convince you to let me use it!

This card is nice though even better when DCE comes back in 2 sets.

7/10 for now

Maybe people just hate flipping so much lol

In theory it loox somewhat cool because you get something no matter what you flip. In practice it seems like it would slow a game down tho... Never used it so can't say much other than that...

6.5/10 Could have some potential in the right deck.

BTW his retreat cost sux.

I see how this could be fun or annoying.

But if I am going to all the trouble of getting a Stage 2 out, I want to KNOW what it will do for me.

I don't want 20 spread if my opponent has Nidoqueen out.

I don't want Confusion if my opponent is going to evolve/Level Up/PokeTurn.

You just can't take this card into a tournament and EXPECT to win with it.

3.5/10

That's both hilarious... ... and sad ... :frown:

The card is wicked if you give it the right techs.
Very wicked.

you're right. you don't expect to win. so you go into the game flipping a billion tails, then realizing you just won. that's exploud in two sentences.

It> You. Really, the purple dinosaur just pwns your face. you don't expect someone to play this and beat you, but when it happens, you should feel ashamed you didn't play it.

9.5/10. It's not 10 because it needs DCE, when it comes out.

2 energies to flip 2 coins. Well this is one of the few flippy attacks where both heads or tails actually do something to your opponent.

4 energy to do 70. Bad.

High retreat, decent HP, low reliability.

8/10 for the interesting first attack.
4/10 for playability.

red face paint metagame deck!!! gengar with exploud, just watch your opponents getso pissed at you! haha
i ran it b/c i had bad luck flipping heads on fainting spell, so why not get all the bad flips out and make them suffer? i love this card!! it's so soooooooo good!!! :D
10/10

Flippy. But all results are benificial. This Exploud is awesome. 2 energy for extreamly diverse affects is awesome.
hyper Voice is meh. Not very good. But on really nice thing about Exploud is that it is versitle, can be played with all energy types, (good idea to run Weavile w/ it) and most of all Upper Energy! 8/10

~May the Will be done.

If you're using that 2nd attack, you're not Explouding right. (Although Upper Energy makes it possible)

As Shadowcard said before, Nidoqueen is bad for Exploud. But Abomasnow is a total disaster. When your opponent turns over a Snover, scoop. You're done.

The best is when a player sees you with Whismurs they assume you're just another person with a random deck. That changes when you're about to flip to bring Claydol's damage up to 60. That's the point in the game when I see people come to the realization that they know they're in trouble. You can see a change in their mood.

Get it out early (3rd turn), spread damage, prevent your opponent from "doing their stuff." It's disruptive. Like Manectric EX was.

Playable? Absolutely. 8.5/10. But unreliable.

Winnable? You're totally relying on getting a lot of tails. 5/10.

Fun? 11/10.

This is a card for those who embrace the flippy. If you do not embrace the flippy, this card is not for you, but do not underestimate it if you are sitting across from someone playing it.

HP and weakness are pretty standard for a stage two colorless. Retreat cost is obviously bad.

2nd attack seems meh, but it can be nice in a pinch.

The reason to play this is, of course, the first attack. Getting something out of every possible combination is good, but it is true sometimes you don't get what you want. The key is to fight through that, embrace the flippy and the flippy will embrace you. :smile:A swarm of these things generates a steady stream of flipping that is going to deny someone their trainers, supporters and stadiums 50% of the time you attack. Competitive pokemon has relied heavily on these cards forever, so depriving your opponent of these for possibly half the game or more is pretty strong. Sometimes all you need is to string together a few turns in a row of tails on the 2nd flip to leave your opponent crippled, especially since you are doing damage while this is going on.

Yes Manetric, Nidoqueen and free retreat can make it harder to win, but those things hurt a lot of other decks too.

Ratings:
For those who do not embrace the flippy 1/10: Don't put this in your deck, you will hate it. Do not underestimate an opponent playing it though, this big purple guy can ruin your day.

For those who embrace the flippy 8/10: If part of what you love about this game is flipping those dice/coins (ahem, Shadowcard ) this is the guy for you. Provide him with good support, swarm with him and it will be worth it. If you lose to bad flips, oh well. If you crush someone using a strong archetype who thinks it is their birthright to beat a card this "bad" and "flippy" you will be the one left smiling while they walk away shaking their head in disgust. As others have said, will be even better with DCE back.

This card, as said before, is very flippy. You will almost always want to get tails on the second part of its first attack, though the first part of that attack tends to vary...

I advise running this in a Dark Build, just as it had been suggested before. Exploud just loves to take advantage of Weavile's energy accel, and with the other Exploud and Darkrai Level X... There's a bit of potential. Still nothing that'll win a larger tournament, but it'd make a fun deck for BR's or League Play.

7/10.
