Yeah, but Crash bomber hurts with the return of DCE. Anti Porygon/Plox Methinks. Otherwise, not great.

5/10

1 for 40 is decent. HP is meh. Stage 1 attackers not called Gyarados are pants right now. Fire Weakness isn't the best.

But I suspect this card is up for review cos of Crash Bomber and the impending release of DCE. (Not to mention all those Dialga decks using Special Metal).

Having Special Energy discarded hurts a lot. When we had Scramble and DRE in the format there were some rogue decks that teched Octillery MT (which has a virtually identical attack).

Breloom could see similar amounts of play for similar reasons. It has a bit more going for it than Octillery too, especially when paired with the SW Breloom.

6/10 (maybe)

Wait! I was looking for a good combo card for my dugtrio!! Haha, 40 for 1 energy! Nice! Then giving them a free retreat for them to think about it for my dugtrio trap, 20-80 damage when they do so!! Then 60 dmg if they decide to go special! Haha i love it!

6.8/10

So lets say he retreats the pokemon you just hover hit, then he retreats, takes two damage and he brings up the next pokemon, does that mean that the new active pokemon has 0 retreat cost????

No... the effect is on the Defending Pokemon which has now gone tthe bench resolving the effect. Good question!

Alright thats cool, seeing that effect is gone now, I think i'd have to give the card a 2/10 in reality. But in theory this card would be really great so i give a 6/10

Today's CotD is Breloom from SV...well, it's OK I guess. Statwise, 90 HP is average for a Stage 1, +20 Weakness to :fire: hurts, no Resistance is common, and :colorless: to Retreat is cheap. Hover Hit deals a nice 40 for :fighting:, but it also gives the Defending Pokemon basically free Retreat until their next turn ends, which is bad. Crash Bomber...eh, it's also ok at :colorless::colorless: for 20+ 40 if the Defending Pokemon has a special Energy on it (plus you get to discard it after). Overall, nothing really makes it stand out or warrants its use really, plenty of better Pokemon out there.

Modified - 4/10 (Underpowered attacks, except for Hover Hit, but it has a nasty side effect)
Limited - 6/10 (Eh, solid enough to take some hits and dish out cheap big damage with Hover Hit)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here)

Alright, not the best card, but it can still have potential.

90 HP for a stage 1 isn't bad. Hover Hit is really a bad attack. Sure for 1 :fighting: energy you do 40, but then the defending pokemon gets a free retreat cost next turn. That can really help your opponents Pokemon with big retreat costs, so that's why it's bad. However, if you can get an Expert Belt on it, you can OHKO a Luxray GL.

The attack Crash Bomber is sadly not the best right now. It will however become better when DCE comes out because of the discarding effect on it, where the DCE is discarded, and then doing decent damage to the Pokemon with the special energy card attached to it.

The weakness is bad because of Blaziken and Infernape, but the retreat cost on it is OK.

Overall 3/10 in modified

Yeah, it really can't hit that hard, so it isn't really the best. It may become better however when DCE comes out.

I love 1 for 40. And if you can belt it then it's 1 for 60! The 2nd attack is good too because lots of people love using call energies. Belt it and you can deal 80 for 2 energies. +20 to fire isn't too bad. 90 HP is a bit low but the belt can help that and make it 110. No resistance is cheesy but you gotta expect that with a fighting Pokemon. 1 Retreat is very nice. All in all, a decent card. It gets a 5/10. I like SW Breloom better. 100 HP, self healing attack and 120 damage to as a punishment for the opponent having no retreat. And we know lots of people today use Pokemon cards with free retreat. Expert Belt can give SW Breloom 120 HP and 60 with Drain Punch and it can deal 140 damage with Homing Uppercut.

SW Breloom > SV Breloom.

run 4-4 of these bad boys with 4 dunsparse in a donk deck! T1 for 100 with expert belt and 4 pluspowers! It may make a funny league deck, but nothing competitive.

8/10 for effort

Being a Fighting type is good, but a lack of damage pulls this card down. It can OHKO an unleveledup Luxray GL for 1 Energy, and Crash Bomber can annoy Dialga/Garchomp. Fire Weakness is bad, 1 Retreat Cost is decent. 5/10

This'll probably be my last CotD for a while, if not ever, due to the fact that I'm taking a break from the game...

Anyway, there's something I'd like to address.

SW Breloom > SV Breloom.

This seems to be the view of a lot of you. Well, here's the thing: the two are made to work together, and they WILL be more capable of doing so with the arrival of DCE.

Alone, Breloom SV isn't anything special. It can, as pointed out, OHKO Luxray GL, but has that pesky Fire Weakness to worry about. So, as for my rating for it on its own, it gets a 6/10. Good, but nothing special... Yet.

As soon as we get DCE, however, this, the other Breloom, and anything that could give the two free retreat could make a decent deck (whether one takes the Weavile route or the Flygon route is totally up to them). My personal favorite combo involves the already-mentioned combo with Dugtrio PL. Have at least three of them on the bench, some form of free retreat/switching out (whether it be switch, Flygon, or a Weavile/Moonlight combo), and one of each Breloom (SV with a Fighting, SW with a Fighting and a DCE). Hit with Hover Hit, and watch your opponent squirm as they are forced to retreat or take twenty more damage than they would have if they didn't. (Of course, that is voided if you've equipped an Expert Belt to the SV, in which case they're going to take 120 total, anyway).

Of course, this Pokemon is still a support Pokemon in such a case, but, hey, it makes the idea work. 8/10 after DCE returns.

I agree with ArmoredMewtwo. Then throw in some dugtrio and you got a deck!!
