4 on the bench to tank up your Grass or Fire Pokemon? Hard to get out, and maybe too hard to be worth it.

in combination with the right cards (scizor sf + expert belt, or Beedril) you can do good things with this card, so 7,5/10

One or two is all you need to make a difference. Some decks can spam basics like no tomorrow (Jumpluff?); this is a fantastic example of something to add to such a deck.

7/10.

Pretty unique I'd say.

80 HP is OK for a stage 1, but the weakness is a bad with dominance of Blaziken and Infernape, the resistance is OK for it resists Palkia and Kingdra. The retreat cost is also OK.

Cloudy Sky is a pretty good body, as for every one in play, you reduce 10 damage done to your :grass: and :fire: Pokemon. Getting 3 out means the reduction is by 30, and getting out 4 means the reduction is by 40. Indeed, this pody seems useful. The attack could've been better in my opinion, as it could've hit for more damage and the fact the attack involves a flip to confuse the defending isn't the best.

Overall 4.5/10

Cherrim PA literally lies between the 4 and 5 rating. The body is the reason why it can be good. The reason why not is that Cherrim SF is better for helps to do more damage.

SF Cherrim is better.
The Powers are on par, depending on the deck...
but SF Cherrim's free energy attack makes it superior over this card.

The HP is too low for me...I see this cute lil pokemon getting burned and not being able to see another turn real fast . For such low HP the confusion shouldn't be on a flip 3/10

Today's CotD is Cherrim from AR, sorta meh at best unlike its other cousin. Statwise, 80 HP is 10 less than the common 90 for Stage 1 Pokemon, +20 Weakness to :fire: isn't good, -20 Resistance to :water: is nice, and :colorless: to Retreat is cheap. Cloudy Sky is interesting in some ways; reducing damage done to your :grass: and :fire: Pokemon by 10 is attractive on the surface, and it's a stackable Poke-Body for up to -40 damage. However, that requires a full swarm of Cherrim as well...which isn't that great for it to really be effective. Worry Seed is pricey at :grass::colorless: for 30 and a 50/50 shot at Confusion.

Modified - 4/10 (Could make a fun tanking sorta deck with this and something like Tangrowth or Torterra, but other than that, it's not that great)
Limited - 6/10 (It's not bad if you have :grass: and :fire: Pokemon you're using, a passive -10 damage as long as it sits on the bench)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here)

Ugh, I need to keep to my word. x-x Then again, I said I'd stop playing. Nothing wrong with commentating.

Anyway, I'm probably one of the few that defends this card. This Cherim is actually favorable over the other in certain metagames or in high-hitting Grass (or, God forbid, FIRE) decks. If your Pokemon can already do massive damage, then you're likely set as is.

One of the most-interesting combinations I've seen with this card involves Blaziken FB. Granted, this was more of a fun 'league deck' sort of thing, but the essential premise was to tank with Blaziken while four Cherim camped out on the bench with an optional fifth Pokemon of choice (typically Claydol or another Blaziken). With this strategy, any attempt to spread is obliterated (and most sniping techniques are significantly weakened), and the effect of Blaziken FB Lv. X's Jet Shoot can be overlooked, allowing you to wail on your opponent with little consequence.

I'll give this card a 7/10. There's definitely some potential here, and I might consider running a fire deck with the aid of this card if I return to the game.

This one is acually better than the other one. Prevention of damage is better than +1 damage because it prevents the OHKO in decks like butterfree but fails against the meta like dialga and end up being a snipe target.

In the right deck 7/10

vs. the meta 3/10

overall 4/10

SF Cherrim owns this Cherrim. Offence is better than defence. SF Cherrim ups your grass and fire Pokemon by 10. 80 HP is too low, +20 weakness is not bad but with Charizard around, it's quite bad, -20 to water's decent but Kingdra can still OHKO it and Gyarados can 2HKO it. With expert belt, Gyrados can OHKO this Cherrim. Only 1 attack and it's 2 for 30 and a chance to confuse. 1 retreat cost is nice and cheap. This card gets 3/10

I disagree from experience - SF Cherrim gives you offence, sure. Consider a Kingdra that can only do 40 to the active when it discards two?

I ran this in Vespiquen and it came 2nd at a cities. Defense is better than Offence in some decks.

9/10
