Second Woohoo!!! :thumb:

I like the card, it is a nice giant fishy that tanks!!!

9/10 Because of luxchomp :wink:

Gyarados 9.5/10.

Cut the score of 1 from the full marks due to a bad meta weakness, then + 0.5-ed because Gyarados doesn't afraid of anything and OHKOs back stuff for breakfast. Translation: it can keep up the prize exchange with a consistent enough build to pull it to a close matchup.

Also, this card caused one of the veterans at my league to tell me:

"My boy, in my days, Pokemon Cards actually required energy cards to attack, and at least 4 to 5 of those to deal 90 or 100 to your opponent (with obligatory discard)!!11"

And then we have Tail Revenge. Don't get me started on Crobat G drops, Team Galactic's best invention yet and Expert Belts. You don't want dentures to fly.

tl;dr:

Gyarados is da boss!

A perfect 10. Bad Weakness, but a great resistance and attack.

This card is the reason I top cut a States in my lifetime :D

Vey nice, all the attacks are good. Resistance is good- nullifies Machamp, donphan etc.
I play it in my Hippowdon RR deck, and they actually work perfectly with each other.
10/10

This card is ok I guess, but idk what deck I should put him in. I do have a Red Gyarados "donk" deck and I am debating on using this Gyarados as a late game attacker (after 1, 2, or 3 Gyarados are KOed for sure).

Gyarados is a card from the best set in DP. Unfortunately it does not live up to the hype as the other cards in the same set. At best, Gyarados makes a fun league deck.

Pros:
* 130 HP for a Stage 1
* Resistance to Fighting

Cons:
* Pre-evolution has only 30 HP
* Weakness to most popular type :lightning:
* Heavy retreat of :colorless::colorless::colorless:
* Attacks are slow to setup.
-- First attack probably means you have to be losing. Expect your opponent to take a few prizes before you can use this attack.
--- Second attack does a measly 40 damage and is flippy. And for every heads you flip you help your opponent burn through their deck.
---- The third and final attack is also flippy and does 100 damage but requires a whopping :water::water::colorless::colorless::colorless:!
* Seems like it needs a lot of techs.
* No :pbody: or :ppowr:
* Artwork makes me seasick.

I should add as a pro you probably won't face any mirror matches because of all the cons. Regardless there are better water pokemon out there so don't expect Gyarados to make a huge splash in tournaments.

2/10

I completely disagree with you.
First of all I went to a split location Cities with 31 players, and out of the 20 or so in Masters, 8 were playing some form of Gyarados. This will probably be one of the biggest played decks this season...

You do not have to be losing for Gyarados' attack, and the fact that Magikarp has 30 hp may suck if it's you're only one, but knocking it out only benefits the deck ESPECIALLY if they run Mew Prime....then watch out for a free attack for 120 damage! Who would argue with a free cost attack for 120 damage?!

And the fact that you just gave this card 2/10 is kind of upsetting haha

^^Jaymin is obviously trolling/kidding man, lol

I wouldn't be surprised though if a similar rating was given out when this card first came out :tongue:

Tail Revenge is insane. A maximum of 120 damage for nor Energy at all is amazing. Wreak Havoc can do just that, milling out the opponent for a lot if you're lucky, and also dishing an okay 40 damage with only 2 Energies. Dragon Beat has an insane Energy Cost but its effect and damage are decent. Tail Revenge and Wreak Havoc more than make up for it though.

Its weakness is kind of bad, but at least it's not x2. The resistance is nice, and its HP is great. The only thing really bad here is its Retreat Cost, In all this is definitely a 9/10 card.
