8/10

This card has great potential. My friend actually paired this up with Swampert and It worked really well. The times 2 grass weakness is pretty terrible while playing jumpluff though. Will it win regionals? I don't think so. Is it worth trying? Absolutly

BTW

First!!!!

Now it may not seem like it's good, but in the sets to come, this will be the card to have.

8/10

2nd!!!!!! Yay me!

Might it be better in later sets? Perhaps.
Does this change that it it garbage in the DP-HGSS meta? No.

1/10. I'd give it a three-four, but the fact that it's a prime lowers it imo.

I wish it were faster. You'll need to get a lot of Energy really fast in order to get Gatr to work. You can't use the attack very effectively, because it hits little for a lot of Energy. You'll also need to run Roseanne's to pump this guy up. Lux X runs through him also, unfortunately.

5/10.

Once again, we finally get a CotD post after several days. Man, it seemed like forever.

So we get to Review Feraligatr Prime, right (as would Lyra in the Pokemon anime would say)??? Well then, lets get to it. 140 HP is great for a stage 1, and the weakness is not too bad right now since :grass: isn't that popular in the format right now, but you may still need to watch out for Jumpluff or Speedrills out there. The retreat cost though is heavy sadly.

Well, there is one reason why this card is quite known, and that's because of its poke-power Rain Dance. Well, do you remember Blastoise from the Base Set. It had that same poke-power, and now its back. Rain Dance is indeed one amazing poke-power for several reasons. One, it can attach lots of energies onto many Pokemon in a single turn, so Feraligatr is such an amazing energy attacher. Two, Rain Dance can't be power-sprayed. That's right, you can use it as often as you like, so you don't need to worry about these pesky Power Sprays from SPs wrecking your powers. The attack is kind of decent however. Sure it needs lots of energies to use it, but Rain Dance can help you here to give you speed. With that in mind, it can be very effective late game, doing 60 plus 10 for each damage counter on the defending is just insane.

Overall 6/10 in modified

Yes, indeed, this card is just awesome. It can just destroy Donphans too. Currently, it can be played with Lumineon MT. Lumineon has an attack that does 30 for each :water: energy on it. Then you return the energies to your hand. Have Feraligatr out and you can be doing lots of damage every turn. No wonder Feraligatr can be a pain. The problem with it though is that Gyarados currently outclasses it. It also can be a bit slow to set up, so it obviously isn't the best card out there.

Gatr WILL be awesome...just not right now :thumb:

Anyways, tomorrow's CotD is Feraligatr (Prime) from GS, which pretty much wants to herald the return of Rain Dance decks, but can't due to a lack of good support. Statwise, 140 HP is great for a Stage 2, x2 Weakness to :grass: hurts if Jumpluff shoots up in popularity, no Resistance is common, and :colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat is a bit expensive. Rain Dance of course is Feraligatr's who existence, almost perfectly mimicking good ol' Base Blastoise's Poke-Power, which lets you attach as many :water: Energy in your hand to your :water: Pokemon as much as you like during your turn. This provides insane setup speed providing you have the prerequisite :water: Energy of course. Hydro Crunch itself isn't that special, 60 for :water::water::water::water: is bad by itself, though it gains 10 more damage for each damage counter on the Defending Pokemon, making this a great finisher of something weakened.

Modified - 7/10 (Again, lack of support means it has trouble right now, but it should shine next format. Consider Feraligatr Prime an investment in the future)
Limited - 8/10 (If you play an all :water: deck, this guy is God, but he is hard to get out)
Unlimited - ??/10 (Well, you can replace that Base Set Blastoise now with something more sturdy?)

Well then, lets get to it. 140 HP is great for a stage 1

Actually it is a stage 2 pokemon not stage 1. Anyways, this card right now is meh. Girapharig HS really does speed it up though. When unleashed comes out is when it will see its highest potential with the new Suicune LEGEND combinations. Also it is great with Floatzel GL lv x.

current meta: 2/10(cant even beat my fire deck)
future meta: 8/10(could get bumped to 10, but we just have to see)

Right now, a really fun card with clean teeth. In the future, it could be competitive; however, we will have to wait and see.

6/10

One of the most hyped cards for HG/SS, everyone went nuts for it. And now....yeah. No socks eaten yet! :thumb:

3/10

It's not a 1/10 card.

I don't remember it being hyped at all. In fact, Gatr could be the first card to suffer from PokeGym anti-hype where kicking it repeatedly in the face becomes the cool thing to do.

Note: by PokeGym logic, this means that Gatr will win Worlds and Nats every year until it is rotated.

Feraligatr has a very good Power, it's just that there is nothing worth using with it. It's attack virtually guarantees a 2HKO against almost anything. Not saying it's brilliant . . . just that it's not the worst.

It's not tournament quality at the moment, but I dunno why people hate it so much. Scores like 1/10 should be saved for things like Electivire FB LV X.

this is a great card great with floazel x if you have time space distorshion and floazel x benched you can bring back fraligator prime all powered up all at once.

How does Luxray kill this its weak to grass? But no I think it has potential just not in this metagame! 5/10

yeah, everyone's correct. This card is crap in the current meta. But you guys wait until next set........ The ADVENT OF SUICUNE + ENTEI WILL REIGN SUPREME!!!!!! lol but honestly, it all depends on what stays and what goes next set.

3/10 this rotation
??/10 next rotation
