2010-7-1 Engineer's Adjustments UL 075

1st!

Very nice supporter. Useful in Typh/Ninetales combo or Steelix (can pull spec. metal or DCE). This will see lots of play next format.

8/10 now
9/10 next season

I currently run this card in my t-tar deck after i have the sf version in play. So it's totally gravycakes. 4/5 for adaptability

Works wonders in my Gigas deck. And it isn't just basic energy, it's ANY energy card.

Drawing 4 cards is helpful in any situation, and probably more than you can get with other draw cards, so I'm giving it 10/10

Today's CotD is Engineer's Adjustments from UL, one of the better draw cards available next format. The fact you have to discard an Energy can be a bit restrictive, but the net gain of 4 is pretty nice, and is especially nice for decks manipulating discarded Energies.

Modified - 8/10 (A solid draw card without bad side effects like many other released ones)
Limited - 10/10 (No point in not taking it)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Better options available in both Trainer and Supporter forms)

Ahhh, a supporter card for once. That I'm glad to see.

Basically, Engineer's Adjustments lets you discard an energy card from your hand. Then, you draw 4 cards. Essentially, you can pretty much tell that this card works in decks that discard energies and then attach the energies to their Pokemon from this discard pile.

Overall 8/10 in modified, 10/10 in limited, and 5/10 in unlimited

In modified, this card can have lots of potential right now. It works great in decks that use Ninetales where or you have the ability to discard more fire energies than usual. It also works in a Steelix deck too. Here, you can discard a metal or a DCE and draw some cards and than use Steelix to attach the discarded energy from the discard to Steelix. Thus, you can pretty much tell that this card can be pretty good. The only problem is that it is outclassed by Felicity's Drawing. Luckily, Felicity's will be rotated next year, giving Engineer's even more potential.

In limited, this card can do lots of wonders. Here, thanks to this card, you can get lots of good draw power. Since Steelix Prime is in UL, Engineer's and Steelix can create one combo that becomes a force to be reckoned with. Of course, it is even good with many other cards here. I would definitely recommend using one if you manage to pull one out of a pack in a limited tournament.

In unlimited, I think this card can have lots of potential too, yet there is one problem. There are many cards here that are better than it. Still, Engineer's Adjustments is a good card to use in unlimited.

I see this card as a Slightly worse holon aventurer. There isn't any card that could search it as well as the Holon Transceiver did, and you have to discard an energy card instead of ANY Card. Still, it's one of the best cards suited for drawing in the next format.

I think this card is very useful. My decks usually run a large number of Energy cards, and frequently have ways to un-discard Energy. The 2-for-4 card advantage is a good number, and there's no drawback like a coin flip or having your opponent draw any.

I think it's going to see a lot of play next year, and even more the year after, unless there are even better draw Supporters coming up.

In limited, this card can do lots of wonders.
Yeah, like letting you deck yourself twice in one prerelease. :thumb: Between this card and Cheerleader's Cheer I ended up with an enormous hand and no deck. I should have managed it better, but who expects to have enough draw in a prerelease?

Anyway, I agree that this card is great, especially in decks that can use energy in the discard. I love it in my Rayquaza/Rayquaza C fun deck.

Very nice card.

Let's you discard an energy card from your hand, and draw four more cards.

Not so good in low energy decks, but otherwise it is great.

Modified: 8/10 (Possible the best draw S/T/S we have)
Limited: 9/10 (Any drawpower here is great)
Unlimited: 5/10 (Better options.)

Engineer's Adjustments! Ah, a favorite of mine during the Unleashed Booster Draft.

Engineer's adjustments lets you discard any energy card you have in hand to draw 4 cards. It's especially good in Steelix, as Steelix lets you search even for DCE and Special Metal Energies.

Steelix: 9.5/10 It really should be a staple here, as Gaia Crush takes 2 steel and 3 colorless to attack, he really needs to be able to pull his energies out of the discard pile.

Modified: 7/10 At the moment, we have Felicities Drawings, which is better due to the fact you can discard pokemon and trainers, as well as energies (which makes Gyarados a viable deck), but will be cycling out when we go to the MD-On format. It's a great card.

Limited: 8/10 Who doesn't want draw power during the pre-release?

Unlimited: 4/10 It's hard to say here. It's a good card, but in unlimited theres... well, unlimited better options than this, but it's always a viable choice.

:pokeball: I like this card a lot. It is one of the best draw supporters in the new format for decks that pack lots of energy and have ways to attach from the discard pile.
This works wonders in my Raichu Deck since I mostly attach from the discard with Electivire:setsSW: and Rayquaza :setsLA:
It could also work in other decks, as someone mentioned Tyranitar SF who has a :pbody: that attaches from the discard, and Ninetails engine decks as well.
Very good card for drawing right now in the approriate deck. Best used in decks with lots of energy, or decks that use the discard pile as a resource for energy.
I give it 8/10 overall since it can even discard special energy. Good combo with Interviewr´s questions since you can almost ensure you will have an energy in your hand.
