Second!

I say 4/10. It could be fun in a spread deck, maybe alongside Mismagius from this set.

Edit: 50 HP is average for basics, resistance to anything is always appreciated, weakness is what it is, and retreat of 1 is slightly annoying.

1 colorless for 10 damage, aka Glide. Nothing new, seen such before, moving on.

1 psychic for 10 to two on the bench. Decent spread in a format where such is almost dead, due to Nidoqueen and Garchomp C Lv. X being frequent 'hi-er's'. But wait! *crowd gasps* What if your opponent, perish the thought, doesn't run those cards. Well then, it's not so bad. Most likely the best choice for those running Crobat decks.

So, yeah, 4/10.

Hmmmmm, looks odd. We are reviewing a common card in todays CotD post.

50 HP is about average for a basic. Lightning weakness does hurt, the fighting resistance is OK, and the retreat cost is about average.

Well, this Zubat is pretty much like a typical basic Pokemon that can evolve. The first attack does 10 for one, and the second attack can do 10 to two of your opponent's bench Pokemon. Well, looks like it can spread, but not a lot.

Overall 1/10 in modified, 2/10 in limited, and 1/10 in unlimited

In modified, this card doesn't have much uses. It can't do much since after all, this is a typical basic Pokemon. The only potential I can see it doing is the 10 damage spread to the bench. Otherwise, Luxray can own it, and Garchomp C and Nidoqueen will easily counter the spread. Thus, this card won't have much potential here at all.:nonono:

In limited, this card sees a slight boost in use. There is no Luxray, Garchomp, nor Nidoqueen here, so this card can do some decent spreading for a basic. Now if only it can hit more when it spreads then it could be better to use.

In unlimited, this card really won't do much. A lot of things can take it down easily, as here, Zubat will probably be used for evolution and that's about it. Thus, this card can't shine much sadly.:nonono:

well.... if you use crobat prime you should have this card in!! one time i knocked out blastoice with this card while blastoice was on the bench :)

WOW it's another Zubat card! TPC, you are so good to us!

Look here, now. First of all, it's Zubat, you can't really ask for much more than that, so already it's a great deal. Then, they make the card even sweeter by giving it 50 HP. I don't know about you, but 50 HP is totally awesome. I wish I had 50 HP. And you know what, when I play this card, I have 50 HP, so it's like I'm getting something special in return. Baby Pokemon don't get 50 HP. They only get 30. Pfft, 30, you can't do ANYTHING with 30 HP. Hoppip WISHES it could be Zubat, then maybe it might stick around for a turn.

Next, dude, Glide for 10. That's a Colorless attack. You don't have to attach a Psychic energy, but you can if you really want to. That's the beauty of Colorless attacks. Zubat just became a total splashable powerhouse.

Whoa now, put the bacon back on the stove because what's this? Zubat has a SECOND attack. You thought Glide was awesome? Get a load of this: Double Attack. You get to smack two of your opponent's Pokemon for 10 damage EACH. That's like a double-Crobat G. And EVERYONE uses Crobat G. So this card is obviously twice as good as Crobat G. And even if their benched Pokemon are resistant? Tough noogies, you ignore that resistance. Not so hot now, are you Tyranitar? Didn't think so! Plus the attack is called Double Attack. You are essentially attacking TWICE. Zubat is just breaking all the rules of the game and he doesn't even care because that's how Zubat rolls. If you can't handle it, then you can just go home, son.

After all that, how can it possibly get any better, you ask? Easy. Resistance to Fighting. Donphan's gonna have a hard time with this beast!

Of course, a card that is so earth-shatteringly powerful has got to have SOME kind of drawback right? Well, yeah, you can't have EVERYONE playing Zubat ALL the time, so he's got a weakness to Lightning, which isn't so bad really, and a one retreat cost which, seriously, you're not going to use. A Zubat never shows his back to an enemy. If the power of Glide is just too much for your brain to handle, you can retreat anyway, since you've already got an energy on Zubat. Of course only the manliest of men would even entertain the very NOTION of making Zubat active. Every time you get Zubat in your opening hand, you'll grow a rich, full beard and your shirt will transform into rugged flannel. Zubat has the power to turn even the meekest players into full-on lumberjacks, and after you take that last prize, you can stand up, laugh a full, hearty laugh, and go off into the Canadian wilderness to cut down trees and wrestle gigantic grizzly bears.

There you have it. TPC has managed to harvest the very essence awesome, distill it, magnify it and press it into card form. A whiff of that bracing scent as you pull a Zubat from your booster pack is enough to make your chest explode in a massive, sprawling field of hair.

Zubat, I salute you.

^ *joins in and dies laughing as well*
Anyways, Zubat's today's CoTD
50 HP is pretty average for a basic, weakness to lightning hurts right now because of all the little Luxrays running around, fighting resistance is pretty nice, and retreat cost of one is average.
Being able to do 10 for any energy is also average as well as Zubat's second attack, doing 10 to two of your opponent's benched Pokemon for a psychic energy.

Overall, a 4/10 Modified and a 2/10 Unlimited, only because it's needed to get out Crobats and Golbats as well as there being better attackers out there.

Interesting choice for a card, I must say!

This card doesn't have terrible attacks for a Basic, but since it evolves, they're not supposed to do much. However, in Limited, this card is much better, even alone, since it can easily pick off damaged Pokemon with Double Attack. I have lost a few matches in Limited due to this card.

OMG, that has to be one of the funniest posts i have ever read on the gym lol. I if could put this in my sig i would.

Ok I swear this was not up earlier in the day...

Anyways, Zubat from UL...why are we reviewing Basic Pokemon that are just out there to be evolved? No point I tell you...anyways, statwise 50 HP is ok for a Basic (though the average 60 would have been nice), x2 Weakness to :lightning: means it gets fried by Luxray GL, -20 Resistance to :fighting: is better than none, and :colorless: to Retreat is ok. Glide deals a basic 10 for :colorless:, nothing exciting here. Double Attack is a tad more interesting, costing :psychic: and letting you deal 10 to 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

Modified - 5/10 (Mainly because it evolves into the much more usable Crobat Prime)
Limited - 7/10 (I like the sniping attack, could be useful)
Unlimited - 2/10 (Uh...well, for what it's worth, he's a solid Zubat here? Who the heck cares lol...)

Every time you get Zubat in your opening hand, you'll grow a rich, full beard and your shirt will transform into rugged flannel.

Thank you for the warning. I am female, so I'll have to resist the temptation to play this card. I will also be sure to wear nose plugs and protective gloves when opening Unleashed packs.

But for real--it's better than the other one, but not remarkable other than that.

Poinko wins the title for best Gym post of all time, hands down. Also, Zubat is a boss! I wanna give him a cute haircut! Great card!

This Zibat has to be played in order to use Crobat prime or any other crobats. I will just compare it with other current modified zubat:
MT:
50 HP
:psychic: Supersonic

Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused.
:colorless: :colorless: Bite
20

SV: 50 HP
Quick Turn
10×
Flip 2 coins. This attack does 10 damage times the number of heads.

And finally this one today. Well I would say zubat's play completely depends on ow much crobat gets play, and its prime version has goten some hype.
I would say today's zubat is pretty similar to its past versions, they share same HP and bottom stats(weakness, resistace, RC). However, I like today's zubat because it can attack 2 bench poke for :psychic: and do decent damage.
The other Zubat are pretty boring, if you ask me.
I give it 7/10 since its better than the other available zubat right now, but its still only an evolving basic.
