In the current format, this card may actually see some play.
Generally hated, "Poke-ball" allows a 50% chance of grabbing any pokemon in your deck, basic, evolution or even LEGEND.
while dual ball sees play due to its 75% chance of getting a basic, this gives you more reward for a greater risk.
Still wouldn't play it though
Limited 7/10 - only because it doesn't work half the time
Modified 4/10 - possible play for legend decks or if you don't know what to do with an extra slot
Unlimited 0.8/10 - no, i'd seriously consider playing bill before this

Not needed. Twins help way more than Pokéballs. You can grab 2 of whatever you like if you're losing, which is pretty nice.

This card has never been good, and it will never be good because it is based on the coin flip mechanic. This would one of the best cards if you didn't have to flip for a pokemon search. I mean when you get the heads it is really good, but nobody will want to take up card space for a card that is based on chance to a very crucial search engine. That is why everyone uses things like Pokemon Communication and Pokemon Collector because it is GUARANTEED to get you a Pokemon. The only card I will accept in any deck with a coin flip mechanic is Super Scoop Up.

2/10

Just doesn't do it for me, and for anyone, unless you have a weighted coin/die or you are insanely lucky.

An often underrated card: it is perhaps the textbook (instruction booklet?) definition of a placeholder, run until you get something better. The thing is, the effect isn't really that bad and all that is really missing for this (and many similar cards) is more card interaction. Imagine if there was a Supporter specific to Items or even the "Ball" family of cards that let you search and/or recycle multiples of said Items? If I could exchange my Supporter for three flips at finding the Pokemon I want while simultaneously thinning my deck by three cards even if it failed, this would finally have a real use.

Well, besides as filler. When you're starting out, its often all you've got. It does do its job adequately, its just this game has enough raw power in its draw/search/recycling and the action done is so important that it is just easier to use a Supporter for the same end result.

Unlimited: 3/10

Modified: 5/10

Limited: 10/10

Summary

Like I said, this card does its job and it does it reasonably well. You'll average one searched for Pokemon card (with no restrictions) for every two you play. In Unlimited it suffers because of better alternatives and the fact that format has the best in draw, search, and recycling cards available to use, and in Modified most decks that can draw enough to afford a few failing, also draw so much they'll just get what they would have searched for anyway. Clearly a must run for Limited, though.

Uhmm I usually do "pokemon"
not Supporters and items
but here I go!

Goes up to 3.0
Risk: 0.50/0.50
Search: 1.00/0
Trainer? item so a 0.40/0.60

1.90 Good 1.10 bad

I'd Rather Play Great ball(Before the Errata :( I miss good ol' Great ball), Master ball(AKA Greatball of today. Grrrr.), Dual Ball, Dusk Ball, Luxury ball, or my favorite, Quick ball.

2/10

Making it in time for today, here we have Pokeball from BW...well not much has changed since it was first printed. Still that 50/50 shot of getting a Pokemon from your deck into your hand; this might actually see a bit of play this format, as PETM is kinda...meh...and there's just Communication otherwise. I mean, it's never been the worst option, there's just generally been better, but now that there isn't, the field is open for it to be played, especially with Junk Arms recycling it, and future Victini allowing for reflips.

Modified - 6/10 (Still inferior to Communication, but overall not too bad a choice for this format, given the loss of some of the other cards)
Limited - 10/10 (Any chance to get a Pokemon you need is better than none at all)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Still bad)
