Brilliant suggestion by ZeLoveFool! If you have any suggestions- don't hesitate to PM me! I want to post what you want to see!

The Swords Dance mechanic is really only good for "well I couldn't attack for damage this turn" scenarios. The cards are similar except Zangoose lacks the critical "free Retreat Cost" and Fighting Resistance needed to function in a similar manner as Scyther always did. Even though Lost Claw is a better attack. Still the role is not as important as it was "back in the day" either.

You cannot compare Scyther with Zangoose...

Zangoose has 2 retreat, a Fighting weakness and even 60 damage for 3 is ridiculous right now.

Scyther was a staple in every single good deck when it was released and several months after, 70 HP was good, 0 retreat was great, Fighting resistance was magnificent.

Scyther = Yanmega Prime

Not much more to say than that.

What? It's nowhere near Yanmega Prime

Anyway, I wish they could bring back varying resistances. -30 to :fighting: is awesome. That's the only thing I really like about that Scyther card. There's not much I can really say for Zangoose. I'm not really a fan of that Pokémon, period.

I don't remember seeing this...anyways here we have Scyther from Jungle, another good ol' Blast from the Past, and most notably (I believe) introducing an attack that boosts another upon use. Statwise 70 HP was and still is pretty good for a Basic, :fire: Weakness was eh considering Charizard (every fanboy's deck) was lying about, -30 Resistance to :fighting: was amazing (given the dominance of haymaker decks using :fighting: Pokemon, Scyther was both at the same time a great card for haymaker decks and a great counter to them), and no Retreat Cost allowed him to flutter about with ease. Swords Dance of course is his main selling point; :grass: to boost Slash up to 60 damage comboed perfectly with DCE, and was about as close to a 1-2 punch as you can get. Granted, Slash itself was only mediocre (at the time) at :colorless::colorless::colorless: for 30, but getting the initial Swords Dance in, them spamming it often ensured success. And did I mention that great Resistance to :fighting:?

In comparison, we have a more modern day example with Zangoose from CL, about as close to a copy as you can get, with just a bit more HP, differing Weakness, more expensive Retreat Cost, and his attack lets you throw a random card from your opponent's hand into the Lost Zone; granted, the Lost Zone mechanic itself has largely been proven fail, but it's still...something?

Unlimited - 1/10 (Not much use anymore, he's just a grandpa now relating glory stories of likely many duels with Hitmonchans and the Machop/Choke/Champ line)
