First. For the first time ever posting. Lol. Amazing card. Fits with anything that has 1 retreat cost. Makes the likes of Smeargle/Sableye easy to get out of the active position. Pretty much a searchable Switch at times with a multitude of cards to get him out. Just gotta plan carefully for those Power Sprays since it IS a Power. But... 30 HP is easily donked. Like. Fo real. You've been warned.

8/10

Freakin amazing. This should be used in about every deck. The only problem is it's low hp makes it vunerable to donks.

9/10

Such a great card.
The only problem is its HP. Its just too easy to kill, an Uxie can one hit it..
But it is almost a staple in every deck..
So I think it deserves a 9/10

im afraid to play this in gyarados. lol.

But as for CoTD: its an amazing tech, I mean: Oh hey look I have this smeargle on my bench with a unown Q attached and you just ko'd my active! okay, ill throw smeargle up, look at your hand possibly help me out. If not, oh no worries Ill just free retreat it for something else!

it also helps for things like sableye, I mean, what happens when you play gyarados with sableye as a starter and you don't have energy? or need to play energy on other pokemon instead this turn?

Overall this card is great as a tech, but if you run a low pokemon count you'll probably lose some games because of this :/

Modified: 7/10

It's really good, but you have to watch out starting with it, because this card, which normally helps get out of bad starts is one of the worst starts you can have.

Good for teching. 7/10

Today's CotD is Unown Q from MD...well since we reviewed this last month on 12-11, nothing's really changed, so just gonna cheat and quote myself here:

Today's CotD is Unown Q from MD, an almost essential tech card in any given deck. Now looking at its stats, one would think not; 30 HP is bad for a Basic, +10 Weakness to :psychic: isn't idea, no Resistance and no Retreat Cost (that part is good). However, its Poke-Power, QUICK, is extremely valuable in providing whatever it's attached to less Retreat. Now sure, at face value that might not be that powerful, but consider this; it's a very easy to search permanent, attachable Switch card for many starter Pokemon (and quite a few Pokemon in general) that saves you a turn of having to attach Energy to something to Retreat it, and is one of the key cards that allows many decks to run lower Energy counts. Hidden Power deals an average 20 for :colorless:, but you're either desperate or a fool to be attacking with Unown Q.

Modified - 8/10 (A valuable tech card for almost any deck, the risk you start with this is far outweighed by the potential benefits)
Limited - 5/10 (Not as valuable, but it's still randomly nice to attach as a tool)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Not much use here, better Trainers/Tools that do his effect)

This card is amazing in decks that have a lot of one retreat cost Pokemon or Sableye or Smeargle. The HP is terrible though so you can get donked really easily. One time I donked WITH Unown Q so that was funny.
I give it 9/10

(And when you attach it to your Chatot MD or Flygon RR you get double free retreat!! So, if you switch out your pokemon it costs your opponent energy to do so!!)

In all seriousness, though, this card is bad. Bad for one reason, in that it's hp is horrible and highly easy to get donked from. I'm going first with my originally bad lone Uxie start against my opponents lone Unown Q start? Yes please! It's happened. Often. To me. It hurts.

And I only run a single Unown Q in these decks!

But it's bad in the way that HGSS Hoppip is bad. Both pokemon have 30 hp, but they both lead to so much better things that it's worth the risk! And Unown Q has free retreat itself over Hoppip's 1 retreat cost!

Unown Q is a good card for several reasons. Weakness? Sucks. Resistance? Sucks. Retreat Cost? Awesome! Let's say you begin with a single Unown Q in play and get to go first. Geez Loweez, you just drew into a Smeargle UD! Or a Sableye SF! Or a Spiritomb AR! Now you can play that puppy down and use Unown Q's FREE RETREAT to bring out a pokemon that will actually be USEFUL first turn of the game.

Unless, you know, your opponent also had a lone Unown Q start. Then you know what to do. (PS donking is awful, don't ever do it, and kidding)

Now as to why Unown Q is really good. It's Power. It's not on par with Superman's Power, but it's at least Green Lantern worthy. It allows you to discard everything attached to it, (Expert Belt? How'd that get there?) and attach itself, as a Pokemon Tool Card, to one of your other Pokemon in play. In doing such it reduces the retreat cost of that Pokemon by 1.

Okay in and of itself, but when you think about how often and likely you are to see the likes of Smeargle UD, Spiritomb AR, Sableye SF, (I'm sure your favorite letter is S by now) Absol Prime, Blaziken FB Lv. X or your LA Pixe of choice, then you can see how much this little guy can really help save on those energies/Warp Points/and Switches that you'd normally have to use to get that pokemon out of the way once it's job is done! It's quite literally a search-able switch that can be obtained through the likes of Pokemon Collector, Pokemon Communication, or Luxury Ball.

Pretty cool, no? Just watch out for those Pesky, Pretentious, Perilous, Powerful, and certainly Popular, Power Sprays.

Final Verdict? 9/10

30 HP is relatively bad, but the ability to give a starter free retreat is amazing. It allows for a lot of versatility in a lot of decks, and that is a great thing to have. It also saves you energy cards. Of course, if you start with this, that's pretty bad. 9/10

8.5/10

Pretty good card, expect the low HP is a big downside, yet the free retreat and ability to give another Pokemon a 1 less retreat cost.

This card was reviewed about a month and a half ago...

Great card in many decks, put if you start with it you've basically lost

7/10

I partially disagree with that because I have donked WITH Unown Q like 3 times but other than that, your statement is true...

9/10

Nearly perfect card. It can single-handedly open up your early game setup and is useful throughout the entirety of a match. It can bait sprays, it's searchable by a ton of cards, and it makes cards like Spiritomb, Smeargle, Sableye, and Uxie lv.x that much better... it almost has to have 30 hp to be fair.
