There was a time in the not so distant past where doing 90 for 3 with minimal drawback wasn't bad. Today, with electric typing especially it is just that, plain bad. Outclassed by many. Best part is the 140 hp. Keep this in your binder or givw it to the newest player at your league.

^This. A Pokemon who is outclassed by an underevolved form, not very common. Porygon2 often has that honor. Poor Tross, WHY YOU WEAK TO FIGHTING? You aren't even weak to ROCK? Haxorus has no weakness and you have a bad weakness, NV, you were cruel D;

Sorta wished it came with no weakness, similar to the video game. That wouldn't be too much to ask for ;/

Anyways, the most redeeming quality of this card is its middle stage. Though the Stage 1 is arguably better played without Elektross but instead with a different attackers, Elektross isn't too bad. Even with another attacker, it's great in a pinch and has some decent HP. Alone, it definitely allows you to play a thicker line, and fit more cards in. Its attacks aren't bad given that they can be quickly accelerated, but fall short of any decent KO's. Lightning typing is cool for Yanmega, but Donphan can cause problems due to resistance. Retreat is horrible. Weakness is bad too, but a plausible solution is Leavanny since you can probably get an energy anywhere on the board with Elektross' Stage 1, thus negating all weaknesses.

A fun card to say the least, was gonna try it with Leavanny/Torandus/Thunderus. But again, the strength is with the middle stage, and you'll probably only see this card in competitive play if someone is capitalizing on that.

Zekrom is much better. It is only a basic, and can therefore use Eviolite. Its attacks does much more damage. It has a lower retreat cost.

Eelektross does have better HP, though. Its second attack does much less damage to itself than Zekrom's second attack. Some Zekrom decks already run Eelektrik. Such decks could fit in one of these as another attacker.

Overall:
Modified: 5/10 (not totally useless, but Zekrom outclasses it)
Unlimited: 3/10 (no real reason to run this. However, it has high HP, which allows it to do damage for more than a turn.)

Agree with everyone else basically.

In the past this would have been awesome. Huge HP, Retreat lock, and 90 for 3. I don't understand at all why it has Fighting Weakness. Would it kill them to print it with a Levitate Ability?

Now though? It's just a slower, weaker Zekrom.

i dont see the harm in running one of these guys in your MEZ deck incase things get bad and its better to attack with than eelectrik. i may be wrong but really, if youre not gonna need it one game, junk arm or communicate it away.

4/10 in any deck besides M.E.Z.
6.5/10 in M.E.Z.

oh and it looks cool for some reason.

It has a weakness to fighting? Someone smurfed up. That would be the one thing that makes it playable in big games. I mean it has no weakness in the video game, so why the card game? It'd be even better if it had an ability called "Electric Harmony" or something (I'm not good with names) for an ability which would make all electric types immune to fighting type, if they're weak against it.

Anyway... so for 90 damage for 3 energies... (one colorless...) the colorless is handy if you're using a dual type deck but it would have been better if it could use double colorless instead. 10 damage to itself isn't awful since Braviary had to do 30 to himself. It can trap the opponent but I don't think most are gonna even bother retreating unless they're weak to electric types or can't defend themselves but then again the only use I see for this attack would be

1) You don't have enough energy to use Wild Charge
2) You're not gonna deal enough damage for a KO and you don't want to risk the possibility of a retreat and face a staller.
3) For some reason you have enough energy to finish him but chose to torment him instead...

Well. At least 90 damage is guaranteed to take most cards out without 2-3 turns, assuming it isn't Conkeldurr or healed.

Otherwise... Donphan and Machamp Prime abusers demolish it probably even before it can be played... and even if it does come out... it won't last. Donphan can come out pretty fast and smack it down in 1 or 2 turns at the latest assuming it needed energy. And it laughs at its pathetic attempt at damage since it will reduce 40 damage, 2 turns is more than enough to finish off Elektross...

Should have had an ability.

Its kind of sad that its lower form is better than it.But what ever,i guess you could tech it into chrome dome.

Agree with everyone elese.

Yesterday's CotD was Eelektross from NV...this is a case where the final form isn't really as useful as its Stage 1 (Eelektrik). Statwise, 140 HP is nice for a Stage 2, x2 Weakness to :fighting: is meh (and odd if you consider this guy gets Levitate in the videogames, making him immune to Ground that's normally subtyped to :fighting: in the TCG and that :fighting: has no natural advantage against :lightning:), no Resistance is common, and :colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat is expensive. Acid deals an overpriced 30 for :colorless::colorless: (along with basic retreat prevention), and Wild Charge isn't that special at :lightning::lightning::colorless: for 90 and 10 to Eelektross. So yeah...in turn for evolving your nice Eelektrik (with its nifty Ability), you gain a rather bad beatstick, which doesn't do much for you.

Modified - 2/10 (No reason to use him considering Eelektrik's value, and that evolving loses you that value for a bad attacker. At best if you're the worrisome type that can't recover Zekroms and future Mewtwo EXs, maybe 1 at best just in case to stall)
Limited - 3/10 (He's big, but hard to get out, and again, losing Eelektrik's Ability is meh)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here, fail)

I'm amused that you took the nickname from my article on the other site and use it now. But I wouldn't put it in, the slot could go to something better instead.

Limited: 8/10 (Powerful, AWESOME stage one, two pritns of the basic form)
Modified: 3/10
Unlimited: 1/10
