Really pretty cards, especially love the artwork on the Shiny Lugia. Though I'm not too sure about it being playable; maybe with Feraligatr Prime and Double-Colourless Energy.

Lugia is simply a collectible card. Something you throw in your binder and try to keep in good condition. The artwork on the shiny version is pretty nice and cool to look at it. The shiny Pokemon have always been fun to catch in the games and its nice to see them printed in card form. I would rather grab a prime, level x, or legend card, but the shiny legends are fun too.

Playability wise, there isn't much here. For a water energy and a double colorless, you can bench snipe. Crobat Prime, Honchkrow G, and a handful of other cards can do roughly the same thing for much less energy. For three water energies and a double colorless you do 80 damage to the defending Pokemon. That cost is insane - especially considering Donphan, Jumpluff, and many other cards can come close to matching it at 60 for just a single energy. With an expert belt, you're doing the same damage. 80 from Lugia isn't worth it considering how much time you spend trying to draw and attach the correct number of energies.

For playability, I give Lugia a 3.5/10.
For collectors, I give Lugia a 7.5/10

So how bout that Lugia? 100 Hp is great for a basic, as is a fighting resistance. The lightning weakness and 3 retreat are never good to have. The first attack does 30 for 3... even with DCE abuse and sniping potential that is a pretty weak attack. The second attack is equally bad. 80 for 5 is straight up awful. That hardly OHKO's anything other than water weak pokemon, and for 5 energy, the attack better OHKO everything in sight.

Personally I dont really even like the art all that much.

I give these cards 2/10 :/ sorry lugia

Today's COTD is Lugia CL 015. Alright, I'll start with the basics. 100HP on a basic is great, even for an un-evolving basic. Weakness to Lightning makes me puke, resistance to Fighting prevented that. :colorless::colorless::colorless: Ret. Cost made me puke again. Alright, now the attacks. Linear Attack for :water::colorless::colorless: does a 30 snipe. I'd rather use Giratina Lv. X, for [P][P][C][C] for 30 spread. But I can think of so many cards that do the same thing as Linear Attack for cheaper costs. The second attack, Hydro Splash, does 80 for :water::water::water::colorless::colorless:. What is this, the Base Set?

Collector's Rating: 8/10
Player's Ratomg: 2/10 (I'm being generous here. It can be used as a potential starter to endure while you build up other pokemon. You'll also need a warp point/switch.)

Okay, I haven't done 1 of these in a long time. But first thing's first. Why is the Pokémon TCG making Lugia WATER type? It's Flying/Psychic in the VG. So like it's been before, it SHOULD be C or P in card form!

The first attack isn't too bad. 1 Water and 1 DCE. But the second attack is TOO slow! 5 for 80? Even if we use DCE for the CC, it's still 4 for 80! That's horrible! It should do MORE damage! Weakness to :lightning: hurts with Luxray LV. X still floating around. 3 retreat is awful! Resistance to Fighting is good when paired up to Donphan Prime but it won't save it against Machamp SF who's still floating around too. Overall it's not a very playable card.

I give it about a 3/10 for playability and like others JimboPro, I give it a
10/10 for collecting

As much as I love lugia, this card is TERRIBLE! Any pokemon can do 30 for 3 energy, Absol g does 20 for 1 dark energy! This card I think was a waste of printing in the non- shiny form,
Collecting wise, shiny one 10/10

Today's CotD is Lugia (with pretty shiny art) from CL, another bad legendary Pokemon. Statwise 100 HP is great for a Basic, x2 Weakness to :lightning: is horrible, -20 Resistance to :fighting: is ok, and :colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat is expensive. Linear Attack is poor at :water::colorless::colorless: for a mere 30 to any one of your opponent's Pokemon. Hydro Splash is priced even worse at :water::water::water::colorless::colorless: for just 80. Definitely binder filler...

Modified - 1/10 (Not point in using it, just flat out horrible attacks)
Limited - 6/10 (Passable as a meat shield and you can power him up if you want to, but that's about it)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here either, in addition to being drained by ER/SER)

The not shiny art is much cooler, I think. The card is just silly.

i know basics that for half those costs do more. GARCHOMP C LV X FOR 3 ENERGY CAN SNIPE 80! this is a fail, something only valued to collectors. the artwork on the shinies are good but only finds a place in the binder. cards like these sometimes make me want to stop playing pokemon. some of the cards in this game are a waste of trees. 1/10

This card gets a 1/10 for playability, the Gyarados in this set is better! I could never see anyone playing card legitimately, but it does look sweet!

Well well well...this card is too expensive to attack with.
A dce and 3 water energy for is best attack isn't too great to use. It looks pretty and all but its just smoke and mirrors. Why must you deceive me Lugia! D:
Its too expensive and weak for its attacks really. And its HP might be a little too low to stick around with if meeting its weakness.
1/10 its one hell of a pretty card though 10/10 for collection
