Confusion is good, but your opponent usually won't be hit by the confused attack because there are so many things to remove confusion, like Warp Energy, Warp Point, Poketurn, SSU, and others. Instant confusion without a coin flip is nice, though. Grind, although it can do a lot of damage, isn't really worth it because of Grumpig's low 90 HP. So although it could become a tank, it is not strong enough to be used in tournament play. 3/10

Grumpig LA isn't very good. Its first attack is easily dodge-able through Poketurn, Switch, Warp point, etc.
Its second attack, grind, could do a lot of damage. But Tangrowth CL has the same attack for less energy, plus he has more HP and a Lv X and a good energy acceleration attack in the form of tangela CL.

Modified-1/10 (Tangrowth beats it in almost any way possible)
Limited-6/10 (While confusion is nice, there are still better stage ones
Unlimitted-0/10 (NEVER USE IT!)

Today's COTD is Grumpig LA. It has 80HP, a tad on the low side. It has a bad weakness, no resistance, and a bad retreat cost. Its first attack, Magical Step, inflicts double-confuse, making your opponent put 6 damage counters on their pokemon with tails. However, there are so many ways around this it's not even funny. Its second attack is Grind. We all know what that does. I never like Grind, due to the low damage output. I don't think this card will see much play.

Modified: 3/10- Grind is bad, ways around confuse.
Limited: 8/10- You're Opponent probably won't pull much to stop this here!

Yesterday's CotD was Grumpig from LA...eh, it's ok, but nothing really warrants its use or distinguishes it in any way. Statwise 90 HP is average for a Stage 1, +20 Weakness to :psychic: is bad, no Resistance is common, and :colorless::colorless: to Retreat is a bit pricey. Magical Step isn't bad (mainly for costing no Energy), allowing you to confuse the Defending Pokemon and having that confusion deal 6 damage counters instead of the usual 3, thus likely making your opponent strongly reconsider attacking. Grind is eh, :psychic::colorless: for 20x the number of Energy on Grumpig isn't bad, but it isn't great either, still need 5 Energy to hit a basic 100 damage.

Modified - 3/10 (Honestly, I can't think of any reason to use it, if you can somehow trap the Defending while using Magical Step it would be an awesome combo, but aside from that...)
Limited - 8/10 (Solid enough choice, a confusion flip backfire on your opponent will hurt tremendously with Magical Step, and you can stack on Energy to make the most of Grind)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here, poor HP/attacks. Easy KO bait)
