Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2011 Season information

Did they just double the amount of regionals, thus double the trips for prizes?

Actually, they did not double the number of Regionals.
They just doubled the number that people can attend because you can now go to one in each of the two months.
But there are still the same total number of Regionals. They've just split what dates they will be held on.

Ninja'd by hours no less. No area will get more than one regionals no matter when they are scheduled.

What of hidden ability pokemon that are fairly difficult for a large amount of the player base to obtain, such as chlorophyll venusaur and speed boost blaziken?

If they've been released they're legal. Especially because of places like the GTS and ****** pretty much anyone can get pretty much anything.

Just curious. If I've read the information correctly, this year's VGC regional tournaments will be swiss format instead of single elimination. Did I read that correctly? The only reason I ask is because they've been single elimination in the past.

lol i can't believe that's censored

Like the changes but we really need to address two things.

Turn one really needs an adjustment.

Top 4 cuts for events with 40-100 players is not good for the game.

the apocolipse is near

by the looks of it they wanna cut down on the number of players at Nationals, how can this be a good thing, it's becoming a little elitist, why not just play unlimited and start offering cash prizes like Magic? the bloodsport is back and I think it'll fuel more snobbish players making it more insufferable to play in smaller events, looks like just collecting again, this used to be fun, how can a game that is becoming more popular than ever thrive with limiting possibilities to go to the premier events?:nonono:

I think what they want to cut down on at Nationals is 50 people signing up for the tournament just to get the free t-shirt and dropping before Round 1, causing the huge delays that we had at this past Nats as they had to sort out who was really playing and who wasn't. Giving 50 Byes in Round 1 wouldn't have been a good option.

My understanding is that the number of points required to play in Nats will only be large enough to keep out "players" who either haven't played in a tournament before, or are just there for for freebies.
Is anyone arguing that this is a bad goal?

No I agree with you pops, allowing a required amount if points is good because at last nationals I had to wait like 45 minute to start a 3 second game ( opp went 1st with active tyrogue, to my active tyrogue), all because repairings had to be made sure to people dropping if that was eliminated rounds would have ended sooner with alot more time to play in side events and just hang out thats just my view (yes im still upset for waiting 45 minutes to be donked) lolz
