I did have a National Championships planned for this Canada year. I was even talking to Marvin about tying it to TCG Nationals. However, I was way over budget and had to choose between having Canadian Nationals or adding a third age division. I felt having a three division system was more important to the long term health of the program than having a Canadian Nationals this year would be. I still have a strong desire to have events in Canada, Australia and other places. I just need to get to a point where I can make the existing events more cost-effective so that I can make that happen.
There were 6 Regionals last year (Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta and Newark).
There are 6 Regionals this year (Seattle, San Jose, Dallas, Atlanta, D.C., Newark).
Please tell me how 6 is less than 6.
Allow me to show you the attendance numbers from last year and I'll let you figure out just how good the attendance in Phoenix was:
Seattle - 647 total
San Francisco - 694 total
Phoenix - 585 total
Dallas - 945 total
Atlanta - 929 total
Newark - 1,551 total
I'm pretty sure I made the right call in moving that event to D.C., based on the east coast attendance numbers.

Besides... Canada has Seattle... >
Mike was hoping to run the VGC along with the TCG nationals (day two most likely). Meaning most of the Western players willing to travel for events would likely be there already.
Canada doesn't have Seattle....Vancouver has Seattle....huge difference.
Is that for all the age divisions combined or just Masters? There were 6 Regionals last year (Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta and Newark).

I guess the word "total" means it's for all divisions - and Masters was called Seniors last year. ^^Is that for all the age divisions combined or just Masters?
^ -_-
With Zekrom banned, I might not compete.
Tornadus is a beast idk what you're talking about.
Cobalion I can agree with, however.
He's also good in rain dance spamming 100% accuracy hurricane with flying gem.
Since this is a Doubles tournament, Cobalion isn't that bad.
Except for the fact that Nothing has Beat Up in Unova.
Justified + Beat Up from team mate at 1/4 damage isn't anything to complain about.
EDIT: Upon further research, Krookodile and Whimsicott learn Beat Up by breeding.

@Mike L.: going with the infrered battle feature is awesome, as it does cut down the amount of equipment you guys gotta tag around. Glad to know that there will be a good number of out-lets to plug into!
Wait...are you sure there were only 6 stops last year? ...
The Japanese players that won return invites at last year's Worlds will be back. I don't really have anything that I can share right now other than that.-Will finally the japanese players qualify to the World Cup? I see there will be 14 qualified japanese participants.
I'm not sure what the question is here. TPC changed their event format between 2010 and 2011, so there were fewer invites being handed out. The addition of Korea to the World Championships didn't have any effect on the number of Japanese invites.-I´ve seen how there has been a change from 16 Japanese players to 14 Japanese and 2 Koreans.
Yes.-Any future plans for Europe?
Yes.Two questions though: Since it is infrared, will there be big screens still to display battles for people to watch?
If it's not on the site, it's not happening.Any "shiny" download?
We'll be using the Battle Competition setting for VGC, rather than the IR function in the C-Gear. Wonder Launcher will not be available during the competition.Wait a sec, if we're all battling using the IR connection, then that will allow for players to use the Wonder Launcher. Is using the Wonder Launcher even allowed?
I'm the guy in charge of the program. I'm the guy that planned the tour, picked the cities, picked the venues, etc. I attended every US VGC event in 2010, with the exception Dallas (Dave covered for me, as I was in the UK for the first European event). I'm pretty sure I know exactly how many events there were.Wait...are you sure there were only 6 stops last year? I remember a lot more unless I'm getting 2010 and 2009 mixed up somewhere...
I don't really care what you find hard to believe. Facts is facts.I also find it hard to believe there were "only" 585 people at Phoenix, though I admit I have no way of proving otherwise. Besides, Atlanta's numbers are inflated because there are still none in Florida (which has one of the largest player bases) and same for Newark (since several populated Poke-playing states are right there).
