I love this guy + Terrakion for taking out the current lightning and fire BDIFs. Wish there was some kind of energy accelerator that would work with these guys, though...

warp point vanilluxe!

so looking at him stage 2, 130 hp, metal weak, 2 retreat, overall decent to above average.
looking at his ability slippery soles we have basically a once a turn warp point (though who switches first is different then the warp point card) which is decent since we dont have warp point in the rotation atm.

crushing ice is a little underpowered for 3 energy to do 60 + (0-40) retreat cost especially since we have skyarrow bridge and dodrio lowering retreat costs of otherwise heavy retreat poke (especially the new Ex's) .

still looking at his ability its plain to see vanilluxe is meant to be a benchsitter, and even if hes catchered up he can move himself back to the bench if hes not koed

8/10

This guy could work in a Vanilluxe deck to win the mirror and/or push pokemon within ko range back to the bench for the chance to lock something else in place. Then finish with some sort of spreader(kyurem?) to take several prizes at once. His attack is ok, can work with dce to hit most big basics for 80 or more. I'd save one slot for him in a Vanilluxe-lock deck, no more than that though.

Today's CotD is Vanilluxe from ND...won't like, along with Scraggy I never liked this Pokemon's design, I mean 2 ice cream cones and heads stuck together? Creepy...almost as bad as Scraggy pulling up his skin like pants.

Anyways, statwise 130 HP is average for a Basic, x2 Weakness to :metal: is eh, no Resistance is common, and :colorless::colorless: to Retreat is a bit pricey. Slippery Soles is a fun Ability, akin to Warp Point in a way. Granted, just using Catcher to bring up whatever you want is better, but eh...Crushing Ice isn't that great, :water::colorless::colorless: for a base 60 ain't that cool, and adding a mere 10 for each :colorless: in the opponent's Retreat Cost doesn't do much since the bulk of Pokemon hang around :colorless: to :colorless::colorless: (though there are obvious exceptions, for example this can OHKO stuff like Emboar and Reshiram sans Eviolite due to Weakness).

Modified - 5/10 - Personally I like the NV one more since it's fun to flip (and more fun with Fliptini), but this makes a nice 1-2 copy run alongside the NV one for its Ability I suppose, and its ability to likely net OHKOs on stuff weak to :water:

Limited - 6/10 - It's ok...I guess take it if you have the line, but don't feel pressured to use it if you have better options

Unlimited - 1/10 - Not much use here, Retreat Costs aren't much different and the Ability is not worth using it for

Interesting ability that can make for some cool combos... although I can't think of any successful combos yet.

Unfortunately, just like so many other Pokémon that have useful abilities (Eelektrik, Vileplume, Leavanny NV, Reuniclus etc), his attack is garbage which makes him a benchsitter and nothing else.

6/10 - I'm sure there's a place for this guy in some deck, but I don't think he will be used in too many competitive decks.

Not a bad card but the power creep is so bad, it really hurts this card. Could make a fun deck with Kyurem EX but kyrtem doesn't do enough damage to be worth it. 3/5

This is pretty great as a counter to Reshi EX because crushing ice does 60+10 for each * in there retreat cost. so it can do 180 to a reshi ex which is exactly enough. I like that it's a warp point, 130 hp is good, but moderate for a stage 2, its attack is awesome, weakness ain't so bad, and retreat is not bad either since you already have to attach a dce for the attack.

5/10

Seems disruptive. Would see play if it were on a stage 1. At stage 2 it is just too slow for this format, though.

6/10

If I could find a way to manage this into my Magnezone deck I would...it gets around the NV Vanillux paralysis which SUCKS! -___-

This card will definitely help bring back forms of Chandelure with the ability to switch between 3 Chandys with Slippery Soles + Dodrio. Unfortunately, its a Stage 2; setting up this card along with 3 other Chandelures to switch between is no easy feat. HP is standard for a Stage 2, weakness is alright, and retreat cost really isn't an issue due to its ability. Also, I LOVE warp point! ;)

HGSS Feraligatr. But then you have two different stage 2 lines to set up. Need some candies. You can Slippery Soles in/out any vileplume/gothitelle your opponent might have set up before you do. Landorous can get you your :fighting: back from the discard for Terrakion, but you would need some NRG switches and/or celebration wind shaymin for that to help, plus some :fighting: already in the discard...
