this card is not that good. 90 hp is to low for this format and can be OHKO by darkrai ex. 2 retreat means that it cant free retreat with skyarrow bridge or be taken by a heavy ball. stun needle dosent do much and only has a 50% chance of paralyzing (75% with victini). reinforced needle is an ok attack that would work in, say, a garbador deck or something that ran many tools, but even then it only dose 80. it could be teched into a deck for terakion but cards like virizion, EP or NV as they both make good counters, each in their own way with pros and cons. Anyway, back to maractus. over all i give it a 5/10. not a horrible card but not much potential here as everything it can do is done better by something else. 5/10 on the artwork, its pretty cool and i like the background, although it is weird for a desert pokemon and maractus itself looks awkward

I love this card, used it before and it actually did quite well

I think this will become a exciting tech to deal with Keldeo/Blastoise and Terrakion decks.
It is one of the best basic grass attackers in the format, but have not shined yet since grass weakness has not been that important to cover.
Virizion NV might not rely on a tool and needs only 2 energies, but it will not do any huge damage before it has attacked two turns in a row without being disrupted by a catcher or anything els.
Virizion EP can hit for a greater amount of damage, but needs 2 grass energies and 1 colorless.
Maractus can be powered up with a single grass energy and a DCE or any other kind of energy acceleration to KO Blastoise and Keldeo with PlusPower or something similar.
And you will only risk 1 prize with it, unlike Shaymin EX.
