Pablo, is this because Mexico doesn't have Regionals? nah I'm just kidding around make sure you say hi :) .

We're waiting on TPCi to release information (Prize support and Championship Points) so that we can effectively get the tournaments advertised and get ALL the information out to you. Hopefully it will be SOON because I'm ready to rock & roll.

So, while we're waiting on TPCi to release the proper information so that we can get started on all the information, here's a contest for you.

Facebook (Houston Pokemon) - Caption Contest

We will post a picture of Pikachu every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Posts your best caption, one for each day (you can post your captions at anytime Monday through Friday) . We'll judge the entries on Saturdays and announce the WINNER for each day. A current booster pack goes to the WINNER of each day, that's 3 WINNERS a week up to October 25th. Players MUST PARTICIPATE at Houston Regionals TCG or VG to receive their booster pack. Any unclaimed booster packs will go to the daily raffle drawings.

Get on over to Houston Pokemon, we're already in week 4 of the contest. The contest ends October 25th.

Which parts of this are generic to all of the Regional Championship tournaments, and which are specific to Houston? Are the Prizes the same for all of the Regionals? Pricing? It'd be nice to see what Regionals are going to look like across the country. Thanks!

$20 - WOW, I was not expecting it to be that high. Wonder if it will depress attendance, which might very well be part of the plan. But, if regionals pull in 200 masters, that is $4000 in somebody's pocket since it costs very little to actually make the cards that are being given away.

I would have also liked to have seen CASH prizes to the top finishers if the player pool is paying CASH.

At the other end, if you are a pretty good player, if you top 64, you get 15 packs for $20, not a bad deal.

However, I don't think anyone wants 6 boxes for winning.

@HotGustOfWind: Making the cards is cheap. Unfortunately the cost of manufacture is quite possibly the smallest piece in the overall cost of the cards. I doubt that the $4000, or whatever the figure ends up as being, will end up in anyone's pocket. It is much more likely to end up being spent on additional OP activity.

As to players not wanting boxes, sealed boxes are currency.

Actually me and a few people were talking about "what we would pay"
If I remember right I payed $10 for my first CCS back in the 03-04 Season, being that said, I was expecting it to be at least 10 for CCs.
Then I was like well States and Regionals are going for more. Anyway I decided if regionals cost more then 20 I wasn't going to do it.

One of the reasons I think this happened is that masters complained about the support we got. I personally only chimed it that I thought every age group will get the same thing.
However one of the huge selling points to pokemon tournaments to other TCG events is that pokemon events are free.

But yeah getting t64 and getting 15 packs is not bad. But yeah 6 Boxes is a lot to win.

This is the first time Ive seen Official information on the League Challenges. I think its cool that you are allowing the $20 charge to include the League Challenge. I may have missed it but how many Play Points for participating in the League Challenge?

Johnny, I missed the Play Point info if it's been posted BUT I would assume 1 Play Point for a LC, like BRs used to be. I'll double check. Another good question for the future would be is there a limit on Play Points from LCs? I will look into that for everyone and post as soon as I hear or read something.
