Now first of all, you may not understand the exact power of raticate g in this format. But trust me, it shines when it needs to. Care to disagree that I'm right? Are you also the type of person who doesn't accept that 8 pile shuffling gives you a god hand? Well that is pretty narrow minded. Do you also say all drugs are bad but yet take drugs prescribed by your doctor? The only clearly obvious downfall is its gyarados matchup. That matchup is generally just lost. Don't worry about it though because you'll be shinning all day.

I spent the night at my friends house, who the same day, just got back in from Houston. I ended up staying up til about 3:30am, he however never got to sleep til the 2 hour car ride that started at 6am. Our league Owner picks us up at 6am sharp. I get in the car, completely lost and dazed but it's all just for fun right? I could already tell today was going to give me problems when it came to paying attention. Just focus on the task at hand.

We arrive to the tournament at around 8, but it's locked up so we head to flying j and just chill for a while. Eventually everything gets set up, we arrive, help some friends fill out deck lists, and then chuckle quietly to myself while people probably thought I was crazy. Oh well.

The organizer goes over new rules and explains a few things, this guy sitting next to me is tripping me out though. He was really excited. really really excited. He wanted to count down until we could start setting up. He did out loud after the rule changes were discussed.

Round 1:
Raticate G vs My friend Hal playing Healix.
Game doesn't last past turn 1. I think damage may have been miscalculated because he started confusing me, but I just said okay and ended up donking him after probably 15 minutes of intense thinking on my part. GG?

1-0

Round 2:
Raticate G vs Zekrom?
I have no clue what her name was, but I felt somewhat sad that I had to show her the power of raticate G. All she had out was a zekrom and she had her baby right next to her at the table. lolwut? I think I may have confused her on accident because I was having a really hard time pronouncing words... Oops

2-0

Round 3:
Raticate G Vs Alec Noah playing Sableye / Gyarados
He starts sableye, does some stuff, darkness energy, crobat g flash bite overconfident gg.

2-1

As a seniors that came with us to the tournament put it; a donker was the donkey. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.

We talk for a few minutes about New Mexico states, the cereal box I wore to it, and about a really in depth painting on the wall right next to us. I swear everytime I looked at it I saw something new and different.

I end up going to the restroom, chilling, getting lost in the building, and then finding my way back to the tournament room.

Round 4:
Raticate G vs ?Brian? Machamp/solosis?
Now, I think less than a hand full of people really understood what I was going through during the tournament today, Alec and him were one of them. Besides top cut I think this way my favorite match of the day just because I could tell this guy was caught so off guard playing me.

We start shuffling our decks and afterwards during the cut I "three pile shuffled" his deck by switching the top 2 cards of his deck. Yes, they are still the same cards but his face was so concerned and confused.

He starts solosis, machop, and an uxie. I think.
I start double crobat g with a horrible hand.
He goes first and plays some cards, he also has to shuffle his deck after a collector he played so I switch the top 2 cards in his deck just as the beginning. By now I think he realized I wasn't a serious person at all. He attacks with machop but while putting a damage counter on I realized crobat g had a resistance to fighting so I was in the clear. :D

I think this is where everything hit me 10x harder than the previous 2 days out of nowhere. Lack of sleep, proper food, showers, and chemicals, all just hit me at once. I remember trying to draw my card and his face looked terrified. At least I think it looked terrified, I was wearing these one of a kind sunglasses that looked like something from star trek, and I didn't have contacts in to see that well because I forgot them in my friends bathroom from the previous night. Sounds started to seem like they were far in a distance my body went straight to being weightless.

I think it took me about 2 minutes to perform "flashbite solosis, poketurn flashbite poketurn flashbite ko". I take a prize card that was pretty useless to me, and I pass. He starts doing some other stuff and I was worried all during his turn. It gets back to me after he knuckle downs with machoke to my crobat g and I'm stuck relying on a top deck that only happens when I 8 pile shuffle. And thank goodness I piled shuffled like a pro to get me an amazing card at an amazing time. What was it you ask? I don't remember, but I remember whispering quite loudly:"WHOA!" and I heard a few laughs.

Somehow he brings up that Machoke, Machop, and Machamp all have a 2x weakness to psychic. I NEVER REALIZED THIS! It was as if I forgot about an important aspect of the game so easily. I quickly abandon my tactics of raticate g and start finding uxie as a tech to hit for weakness.
I start doing some crazy stuff that I didn't even know was possible and eventually he runs out of pokemon on his bench and I KO his machamp prime with an uxie + expert belt + 1 Plus Power.

3-1

How I did it I'm not sure, but I made it to top cut and ended up meeting Alec Noah once again in a best of 3. INTENSENESS. There was supposed to be a lunch break, but I couldn't really focus on eating much less did I want food. I approached his mom, who happened to be the overseer person dudes of the tournament and asked if we could play and just skip the lunch break. She said it was up to Alec and we played each other after he was done making a trade.

Ever have about 15 people watching your every move and just waiting for your game to end? Well, I have today. Ooops. During the matches I felt so great, like a euphoria was over me, well, kindof. I was just able to talk a lot in different tones and accents.
Game 1 goes to alec, he benched to many things and got a gyarados and I ran out of resources.
Game 2 goes to me after I flashbited his gyarados, seeking his last bench, and then attacked with rat g.
Game 3 goes to Alec on time, even though he was one prize left and I only had 3 cards in my deck. All remaining pretty useless.

Overall it was a pretty chill tournament, I gave away the packs I won and I don't remember to who, I almost traded for a victory medal but alec convinced his sister otherwise at the last minute D;

Good games and cool to meet new people.
