I decided to play Mothim aka Mothballs because it was fast and consistant which was something I felt was going to be lacking for the first weekend of play.

R1 - Rogue Fire Deck

I see fire and I am not too happy, I end up getting a T2 Mothim and ko his pokemon on T2, T3, and T4 which benches him.

Win (1-0)

R2 - Luke D. (T2 Doom)

He is playing the fire Houndoom. I start with Unown P and I go first. He mulligans and I draw a Burmy. I play down Burmy and attach to Unown P. He goes and benches a second Houndour and hits me for 20 flipping heads. I retreat Unown P, use Burmy's power, attach, evolve and ko his active. He can't find his Houndoom after losing a wager and he proceeds to lose on T3.

Win (2-0)

R3 - GG

With no DRE or Scramble, he can't keep up with my speed. I end up TS-2ing to win by taking my last prize.

Win (3-0)

R4 - Frankie Diaz (Kingdra)

he goes first and he starts with Azelf. I end up T2ing him with Mothim because he couldn't draw anything in the one turn he had draw.

Win (4-0)

R5 - Christian Ortiz (Magmotar/Blissey)

I start with 3 Burmy and nothing else that is very helpful. I proceed to lose badly. (I did play him for fun afterwards in 3 games and I took 2 of the 3 with Mothim vs. Magmortar/Blissey)

Loss (4-1)

With 29 players we have a T4. I am the 3rd seed and I am playing Josef B.

T4 - Josef B. (Torterra)

G1 - I draw horrible, but I get a T2 Mothim and proceed to take the first few prizes, but he starts getting his big huge Torterra and I can't really do anything to help myself.

G2- I get a much better start and I get a T2 Mothim and I am able to run thru him and take the first 3-4 prizes. By the time he is setup I have too much of a lead and I end up winning when he can't draw his warp point to get his Sceptile with 70 DMG out of the active spot.

G3 - I go second and get a T2 Claydol, but I can't draw the Mothim, which would of been huge. I am still able to take the first few prizes, but being able to ko his active a turn sooner would of meant another prize and since the game finished 6-4 on prizes it might of made a huge difference in his choices on what to do. Instead I end up losing and wishing him GL.

Loss (4-2/5-3)

I was happy with my performance but I wish I had done better. If I had some better luck I might have been able to win the tournament.

Props -

Anyone who helped me
Pineco + 59 energy going 1-4 and actually beat a person (They didn't show up)

Slops -

Not T2ing the event.
