The official ruling on Note Taking in-game includes this section:
If I were to use Alph Lithograph to look at my prizes, and wanted to record them on a sheet of paper, would I have to write out the entire name of every card so as to not "use codes, ciphers, abbreviations..."? Or could I, for example, write down PONT for Professor Oak's New Theory?
The rules on note taking also say that the judge can "ask for explanation" on notes, could I simply say that PONT stands for Professor Oak's New Theory if they asked, or is there no allowance on abbreviations?
Because a judge may ask to see a player’s notes while a match is in progress, the use of codes, ciphers, abbreviations, or any other method of obscuring the meaning of the information is not permitted.
