Actual Worlds 2009 Location Revealed

this is hotel info i've poached from the comic-con site, as regards hotels in the area. PLEASE disregard any mention of shuttles, as they will NOT be running for worlds...

the bayfront hilton is not shown on this map, but is located at the intersection of harbor drive and park blvd, across from petco park, and just to the right of the convention center. the map key shows the relative locations of the other hotels in the downtown area.

The dates are correct as printed on the announcement card. You work with what you've got.
 
i think we should organize a second hotel for everyone to go to if the rates dont go down, so at least you wont be the only pokemon player in the hotel, maybe we organize a certain floor and then people can playtest and stuff, but i think the rates should go down,
 
There's no mysterious extra day. The event will run from Thursday (grinder) to Saturday (WC finals).
 
so Sunday is the flying home day?

Just want to be sure, what day you will open the Open gaming area? This year they opened it quite late and last year and i think the year before last and maybe the year before that was opened since monday... Bah, i wanna know that before I can book my flights *lol*.
 
as Mike said...13th to 15th...lol. maybe the reasoning of having worlds a day earlier cause school start backs on 17th? lol.
 
Wow that is a pretty penny but its the Hilton so its to be expected. I figure like always ill stay at a hotel near by and go there. Thats what i usually do :) Next year i know ill be there at least 1 day early to visit the sites because i havent been there in 2-3 years. I love San Diego and the sites it has,also i love baseball so i gotta see a padres game :)
 
Reason for moving it up a day is the same for choosing a different hotel because they had no vacancys.

The event couldnt be booked for Fri - Sun
So PUI decided to go Thurs-Sat.

I wouldnt complain, as most of us usually are there Thursday anyways... I say go out and sitesee on Sunday!!!

Thats what my league is gonna do!!!
 
Great, Worlds 09 is going to be right by my house... It's insane that I'm not happy.
Have fun everybody. Hope all of you could win this year.
I'm supposed to be happy but sad too. Even though I can walk down the block to worlds.

Worlds Finaly comes back to the West Coast (Hawaii hardly counts >.<) and its as far away from me as you can get, while still being in America. Yay? Was hoping for someplace I could actualy attend. Oh well.
 
Hmmm, the link to the web page didn't work for me. I will try to find it on Google. Did anyone else have a problem with it?
