Alabama 2012 Pokémon State Championships
Location:
Perry Rec Center

Ozark, Alabama 36360
Date: Saturday, March 24th, 2012
Time: Registration at 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM (You MUST be in line by 10:00am or you will receive a 1st round lost). The main tournament (swiss rounds) should last 5 to 6 hours.
Three Age Divisions: Juniors (born in 2001 or later)/Seniors (born in 1997, 1998, 1999, or 2000)/Masters (born in 1996 or earlier)
Format: Every player will play at least 3 rounds of age-modified, swiss-style play. After the swiss rounds, finals will be single elimination. Players must bring their own 60 card Modified deck and will need to fill out a deck list. Blank deck list will be provided at the tournament or you can fill out your decklist ahead of time via SteveP's Decklist Program. Modified decks include cards from any of the following sets: HearGold & SoulSilver, HS: Unleashed, HS: Undaunted, HS: Triumphant, Call of Legends, Black & White, BW: Emerging Powers, BW: Noble Victories, BW: Next Destinies, plus BW Trainer Kit, HGSS01 & higher promos, and BW01 & higher promos). If card has been reprinted in one of the sets mentioned above the older version can be used (i.e. Switch, Potion, etc).
Reminder: Players please remember to bring your POP ID#. If you are a new player and don't have one we can provide you one at the event. Also remember to bring your damage counters and burn/poison markers if your deck requires it.
Cost: FREE!!!
Door Prizes: We will have Door Prizes for each age group. Each player will also receive 3 Play! Points, a 2012 State Championship promo card, and a die with entry. (while supplies last)
Prizes: Top players in each of the three age groups will receive:
* 1st Place: 36 Booster Packs, 1st Place award, $300 Travel Allowance to US Nationals, 1st Round bye at the US Nationals, & 10 Championship Points
* 2nd Place: 36 Booster Packs, 2nd Place award, 8 Championship Points
* 3rd/4th Place: 18 Booster Packs, 3rd/4th Place award, 6 Championship Points
* 5th through 8th Place: 9 Booster Packs, 5 Championship Points.
As the amount of players in a division increases, so does the number of places that receives Championship Points. Go to www.pokemon.com for a list.
Here's a decklist if you'd like to go ahead and print one out. You'll have to create a scribd account to print, but it's quick and easy. You can even create one with your Facebook info.
