Details
The third stop on the road to the World Championships, the State/Provincial Championships are a ranking point effecting swiss+single elimination tournament. Players will be required to bring a 60 card deck (with decklist) which conforms to the Modified format, a legal randomizer, damage counters/status markers, and their POP ID number. (If a player does not have a POP ID, one will be provided for them.) World Championship deck cards (silver bordered with non-standard backs), proxy cards, and counterfeit cards will not be permitted under any circumstance. Prizes are will be awarded to the top 8 players in each division.
Due to time constraints, any player arriving after the Registration End time may be subject to a first round loss or denied entry into the event, so make sure you arrive as close to 10:00 as possible! We look forward to seeing you there!
 
So who is excited / not excited for it being in West edmonton mall?

Just so you all know, we got bumped from the stage in the pit area just in front of it.

Not that I see this as a bad thing necessarily, it'll make the area much more controlled. But just an FYI.
 
I was there just yesterday, and the stage wouldnt have been big enough for the tournament I think. The "pit" area however seems great tho. Right next to the segway demo area.

Also right next to Cinnibon =D
 
Any clue if there is a need for more judges for this event?

I'm looking to volunteer to gain some judging experience.
 
I'm super excited for it being in the mall. We are getting a room there which definitely is better than leaving Saskatoon at 6am day of the tourney. Plus it means I can waterslide and go on a cinnabon diet.

One thing that wasn't mentioned however is that if your bummed you went 0-X, there are BABY ANIMALS RIGHT NEXT TO THERE AT THE PETSHOP!!! You can't be sad!
 
Well hey thats better then none! Theres about 5 of us Albertains going to BC even tho we have our own provincials ;p

Get a league going, run some battle roads this spring, and maybe you'll get a provincials next year!

That's the plan

There's a league in Regina but they don't do anything but a league. I wouldn't want to go there though because Regina sucks.
 
What's the meta like in Alberta? What is to be expected? Lots of LuxChomps? Is LostGar hyped a lot? VileGar?

Also, do you guys need help setting up at all? Like tables and whatnot?

Well the metagame is what you'd expect. Theres going to be luxchomp vilegar, gyarados, machamp, lostgar (maybe a couple?) and some rogue decks in there as well....

I think the mall staff will be there to help set up....but it never hurts to have some extra bodies around!
