Anyone with experience in this?

I'm considering getting in touch with Canada Post somehow to report a problem with a postal outlet. I've had an increasing number of lost or late shipments lately - which seem to happen only when I don't use a form of express mail. I know of 3 in the last month, and it really concerns me, because my reputation is at stake. However I can't afford to send all my shipments as express mail. I want everyone who has done any business with me to know that I am a good trader - if you didn't know that already, and that I will make restitution for any lost packages if I can. I will no longer use that particular postal outlet, but have a few others nearby. I know of a package to pajamas, BJJ763, and Pokemonpat that has gone astray. Are there any other outstanding packages in the last month that are still missing?

Does anyone else have experience with this problem? Who did you get in touch with or what did you do to solve the problem? What a pain. :nonono:

It hasn't been with trading cards, but I have had several packages that I've tried sending up there that seem to get mired in the system now. It might have to do with increased security screening. I don't know conclusively, but I can verify that it's not localized.

Well, I do realize that Customs is definitely opening more packages that cross the border, and if you put a value on a package of over $60 then they want to charge duty fees on top. However, I'm saying that a larger portion of my packages than normal have been delayed or lost. I hope this is just a localized phenomenon, because it would explain a lot, and hopefully now that I have vowed to not use that particular postal outlet, things will change. If nothing does change, I'd be doing this for nothing, and I wouldn't be happy.

Well as you know I've never had a problem...has the pencil case and stuff gotten to you yet? And I've phoned Canada post before regarding problems.

I sent someone cards via registered mail, put cards on the custom forms and they mailed it back to me for not being descriptive enough. I showed it to the postal worker at the post office and they couldn't understand why they would of done that when my description was dead on.

On your issue Garrett, I have had that problem before. I had a span of about 6-10 months where all my mail that I was expecting would more often then not get lost. It was very upsetting and frustrating. There is nothing you can do other than constantly complain. More times than not if you do, your mail may get some more "care" because they know your upset. Now that won't work if you don't treat them with respect and let them know it isn't thier fault but it is the company for doing a bad job. That usually helps because most of the Post Workers agree with that statement.

    Hope that helps you out.

Keep calling and complaining. Maybe something will get done

just out of curiosity has there been new people serving you at the outlet you go to? I'm not trying to point the finger at them but is there a chance they have hired a bad apple at that outlet? If not I would go to the Canada post outlet and let them know you have had several packages goes missing over the past x months and would like it looked into.

Given that I work for the bloody company and send out a solid number of small/light packets each day, I have no idea why "trading cards" wouldn't be descriptive enough. I've even missed the CN22 on light packets and still had them go through, though I assume that one was a fluke. You don't even need to assign any high value to cards, because the declared value is for primary market value, not secondary market value (so you just say a pack's worth is $5 or something). If it's cards, you don't even need to declare anything if you just put it into a letter. Also, on this note:

I actually have a customer who comes from the Stygian pits deep below, and she gets a wide berth and extra dispensation because we just don't want to hear her whining and complaining. That said, we hate her and only humour her to shut her up. So it's a trade-off if you want to be a pain to us.

PS, at least in Canada, the postal company and border services agencies aren't related to each other, so if you're having problems with customs, don't bug Canada Post about it.

Marrill Not picking on you in particular but Canada Post has the worst service in the world. I live close to P_A and actually have the same problem when mailing from his postal outlet or the other one 5 blocks away from it.
My resolution is to go to Toronto (I'm there everyday anyway) and mail from there. If possible I don't use Canada Post. Anything is a 50/50 shot it gets anywhere. I rec mail from the US in 5 days, me mailing back I get 3 to 4 week service and I know the customs portion is correctly filled out.
    How can you explain that.

Once my friend was sending me a card and it didn't arrive for weeks. We assumed it was lost in the
mail, but, then, my friend recieved the card and it was stamped F.B.I.

Okay? I'm not sure why I'm supposed to care if it's good or bad. There are options to get your cards places fast and tracked/secure/insured. Take them or leave them. If you leave them, then unless you live way out in the sticks you can generally find alternate means to get your cards besides the 'Gym.

"I'm, sorry, but we have to search these tradeing cards." ? :lol: I would so sig that if I had space.

I've had a number of large delays, but I can't say it's been a certain outlet of CP.

    Hey,

Just to let you know, I haven't received the package from you yet either. :( How long do they normally take to arrive? I'm hoping it could still be on it's way as it's only been just over a month since you sent it.

To go over the pond it takes considerably longer. But I assumed you already know that. I gave you a tracking number. Please go to canadapost.ca and check that out. At least that can be tracked. The other packages I have no idea, and even less control.

They can be tracked if and only if the people handling the things bother to scan them. They're kind of sketchy with that.
