Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Arceus: The Alpha Deck

I think that I have a better Arceus deck, but we will see at the battle road next saturday...
If I indeed made a better deck then I will surely post it.

I play Machamp, and I think you autoloss against it. It takes you two turns to knockout, and Machamp in the new format is very fast. I usually have three Machamps out by t2. It's very hard for arceus to get rid of two champs, let alone 3. Maybe drifblim ud could help? that is my least favorite card to play against because even when it cant balloon tackle me for ko, it takes me away. SO annoying.

I just learned a little bit ago if your attacking with the water arceus and there weakness is water it still just does fiffty.

Not if you copy another Arceus' attack. ^^

Edit: stupid stupid dumb wrong.

But anyway, to my experience, it has to actually specify that it is not affected by Weakness (which some attacks do specify) for that to be true. Apparently "any other effects" does not include Weakness.

Redados, you should read replies before adding your own as opposed to risking posting something that may seem counterproductive.

I just want to applaud you on a great article, not only well written but extremely well put together... BEST I HAVE SEEN!!! Very nice work and love the deck!

Quick question amphachu ..

do you think fisherman would be good in this deck, so you can get back the energy you need whenever you retreat..
or do you rarely ever retreat since you can usually continue to hit for weakness with one arceus?

I would rather play Energy Returner over Fisherman, so I can Ripple Swell them all back onto my Arceus.

This is James Proctor thanks for loveing my deck I just went to a battle roads in seattle and won it. Arcues is good Mewtwo all you have to do is use the water one attck fast wave and a basic can hit it. I have i went 4-2 at the grinder at worlds with my buddy. Everyone keep thinking its not good that makes me happy i will keep playing it and upseting a few people LOL thanks kevin next time i see you i will give you my list lol

why not 4 arceus ripple swell so you can start with it? I know it doesnt seem like much more than 3, but it helps with consistency

You actaully did when we were at Mountain Grove. I just wrote this long before then.

Thanks for this article and all the helpful posts. I have been running an Arceus deck at league with a pretty good result. I find the Metal Arceus' Metal Barrier attack to be extremely useful as so many decks depend on Lv X's.

Just one thing, correct me if I'm wrong. You list lucario in this deck, but ripple swell requires six different arceus in play to happen. So wouldn't that leave no spaces open for the lucario?

I just noticed something weird about this deck...

Your best setup attack is Ripple Swell.

You only have 8 Basic Energy.

How does that work?

This is a great deck list!! One thing I have a problem with is that pokemon communication was picked over great ball here.
Great ball can grab any of the pokemon, except the lvlX, but that's what beginning door is for, right? Still, a very cool deck!
