Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Arceus: The Alpha Deck

Metal Arceus Counter

I disagree with your Dialgachomp matchup very much. If you know what you're doing you have the 60-40 matchup.

I have to agree. Using the Metal Arceus as a counter to Dialga G Lv X Shuts down its attacks. If you have already Ripple Swelled for energy on the board, you can use Arceus LvX's one energy retreat to move to the bench and active spots. The Fire Arecus OHKOs Dialga G!

I would agree with the 60-40 in favor of Arceus with this deck!

I went undefeated with this at a BR recently:

PKMN:20
4 Arceus Lv.X (Omniscient)
4 Colorless Arceus
2 Fire Arceus
2 Dark Arceus
2 Water Arceus
1 Psychic Arceus
1 Electric Arceus
1 Grass Arceus
1 Fighting Arceus
1 Unown Q
1 Uxie

T/S/S:24
4 Pokemon Collector
2 Bebe's Search
4 Copycat
3 Cynthia
1 Palmer
4 Beginning Door
2 Belt
4 Ultimate Zone

NRG:16
4 DCE
4 Rainbow
3 Fire
2 Dark
2 Water
1 Grass

It's really so much fun. I've been thinking about removing the lightning Arceus for a metal one.

Also, you only need to Ripple swell once. It helps to massively thin your deck so everything you shuffle back in after that is just gold.

You need uxie in here. Badly.

Wouldn't Mewtwo only let you get one hit on him w/Water Arc.?

If its the only thing to hit him, wouldnt he get rid of it?

Fastwave applies Weakness. You Level Up the Psychic type, drop a Belt, and copy Fastwave for the OHKO.

I love that this deck is making a comeback! Being able to T2 Ripple swell will almost ensure game over by T8-T10, such a cool deck. I used to play with call instead of rainbow energies but I'm really digging alien's list in terms of flexibility (and the 1 uxie tech is sick).

Not being able to T1-T2 Ripple swell though is mad lame, though. As is not being able to draw into the stadium. (Which is why I like call, too often do i have a hand of 3 pokemon and 4 energies with this deck plus terrible top decks)

umm...what do you do if ur grass arceus or whatever is prized? or if the bright look your psychic early game, and you cant retreat. or worse, cant switch out to get a chance to ripple swell? eww....

Then ill just level up the psychic one...Ripple Swelling is way more important that just one of my level Xs. Also, about the Grass one, its only meant for certain matchups. Most of the time, it never hits the field. I went 4-1 in swiss at a battle road with it in Jenks yesterday, and lost in top cut. So, Arceus is pretty good. Other people have also been doing great with it too.

Just went 8-2 at a local BR with an arceus based of your list. Thank you for the inspiration and for the amazing deck. i love playing it and my opponents love playing against t. It's an all around fun deck that makes you think.

Thank you. Its nice to know that some people appreciate Arceus.

This deck has actually risen a spirit inside of me that wants to play this game again.
This is probably the funnest deck that I've played this format.

Did you know that you can only have up to 4 Arceus? (LOL) I'm just being silly. I don't know much about Arceus decks but I do know you can have as many as you want. I think this is not a bad deck at all but you might want to be careful because you may get a lot of dead draws.

This is a great article! This is a great deck but it has a few problems, one being luxchomp. All the arceus (except lvx) have 70-90 hp : easily ko-able by garchomp. But other than bad matchups i think this is a great deck.

you would be suprised by the decks arceus can completely destroy, but then it can turn around and be completely destroyed by mighty muk tank or some other weird deck.

even though i dont agree with is list at all arceus does have some potential since its biggest issue was mainly claydol being in the format. since the format kinda slowed down arceus definately has a chance in my opinion.

imo still looks better on paper.

btw here is the machamp match up .... scoop.

now that is an arceus list.. necro post

I play Machamp, and I think you autoloss against it. It takes you two turns to knockout, and Machamp in the new format is very fast. I usually have three Machamps out by t2. It's very hard for arceus to get rid of two champs, let alone 3. Maybe drifblim ud could help? that is my least favorite card to play against because even when it cant balloon tackle me for ko, it takes me away. SO annoying.

You can attack Machamp with the Psychic Arceus's attack. It may not OHKO the Machamp, but it Confuses as an effect of the attack. Either your Machamp must Fighting Tag or retreat. Arecus also plays faster than Machamp Prime. SF Machamp is the biggest challenge here.

Actually, you rarely get dead draws because the deck uses many draw-power cards. Plus, every Arceus except the Lv X cards are basics so they are all instant plays. Drop a Colorless Arceus on the Bench, level up your active Arceus and work for Ripple Swell while still using the attacks already in the field. I usually bench a Grass and Lightning Arceus ASAP - one for retreating/one fore healing. Seeker has made the Lightning Arceus relevant as you can switch damaged Arceus to the bench, pick it up and reuse the Lv X right away!
