I noticied that the scores here seem a lot higher then last year. At least for Masters.
Last year the range of scores on the first page in Washington was
2010 - Tyler N. 1st w/ 1810.67 - Penny A. 25th w/ 1660.41 this year scores are way up
2011 - Tyler N. 1st w/ 1869.94 - Nestor G. 25th w/ 1674.02

The range went up +69.27 to +13.61
Tylers 1810 top score of 2010 would only have been good enough for 5th place this year.. (and Tyler really... didn't you know that you are not supposed to have time for Pokemon while you are in college?!??!!)

Did this just happen Washington or have other areas experianced a growth this year in POP scores?

10th place APAC masters was 1695 last season but this season got a +40 growth to 1736... Yeah.

I've noticed a large increase in ranking scores as well. It's usually down to the amount of high K Value tournaments, or the amount of players in the ranking system. I can understand the increase within Europe with the European Challenge Cup and Prague Cup, but I'm not sure about any increase in North America.

it might be because alot of seniors moved up to masters and its more balenced and alot of juniors moved up to seniors

#s are up a bit. Its safer to look at NA/US as a whole rather than state specific.

The big issues I've seen are that we have more rounds and deeper cuts. As a result, there seems to be a lot more high high 1700+ players. The "high end", being the top 50 or so, aren't much higher, simply because it remains VERY difficult to maintain a high rating when you barely gain per win, and each loss will undo 3+ wins.

Its hard to do it state by state because that simply means a player from that state is having a fantastic year, opposed to a bunch of players having moderately successful seasons. In Ohio for example, myself, Drew Holton, and Andrew Mondak are all having great years. Tyler in WA is on a hot streak. State to State will differ every year at the top end. Depends if States/Regionals winners X-0, or take 2 losses in swiss too. Thats like 40 less points they get if they take those two losses. It adds up.

the numbers in seniors and juniors are insainly decreased 40th last year was 1808 now this year its 1796 i hope they don't change it to t30 get in because im 31st:mad:

They announced T40. It will be T40. They have never once taken invites away from those announced for anything other than illegal activity, which this clearly is not a case of.
