Arkansas' First State Championships!!

Yes OK States will be on March 12th, opposite of AR's and as always TX's.

Back in 04 it seems like. several of us went to a tourney in Little Rock. There was an event in a mall and we were still using the base sets cards and a few other sets and I remember going to another where we had a draft in a card shop. That was the year a "boat" hit the bridge at lake Tenkiller. I don't think there was an Arkansas state's though, as that was all under WOTC.
 
Im still upset that some of us Bentonville guys cant go down to represent. We'll take it home for Arkansas over in Oklahoma though.

Yeah that's what I thought. I know there was some activity in Rogers and Little Rock but nothing ever came of it. I'm just so glad that now we're able to make a go of it!! ^^

It's too bad that you guys aren't coming, amphachu. I was hoping to have as many "local" players as possible participating. :/

Well, we've had to be paired up against each other at 3 of the last 4 tournaments, and twice at one of them because we got paired against each other in top 8 at Tulsa CCs. Were even as of right now.

From what Pete has told me, this is the first States for Arkansas. We've never had a PTO until me and as far as I know, there have only been a few Prereleases and maybe a Cities or two back in 2005 or 2006 in Rogers, I think.

It may have been a "proxy" States, kinda like what we did last year for fun. ^^


Ours is the opposite weekend of OK's and Roy (OK's PTO) and Kathy & Mike (MS's PTO) are coming in to help me run it and they're bringing players with them. Same for TN, too. So we might have a variety of players afterall!!

Either way, the more players that can make it, the merrier. :thumb:

I remember people talking about wanting another one back in 2006 before I moved to Texas. That was back when we used to play at The Game Room in Little Rock

Cool!! I remember going to Little Rock a year or so ago and The Game Room was closed down. I wonder if they moved??

I asked my buddy about it when I was in LR this year for XMas. Said it got closed down 3 years ago because they lost almost all their business. The idiot that ran it decided to make it 99% MAGIC and moved EVERYTHING else into one corner of the store.

There's a League in Sherwood that is held in a game store called IMAGINE! for those of you in or near (or visiting) Little Rock. :thumb: That's where all of Sherwood's Premier Events are held, too. ^^

Mike handed it over to someone else before he moved. Had a nice bigger store as well. (2 floors)
 
I am bringing Memphis's BEST players to Arkansas!! Going to try and get at LEAST 20 of my players over to the Hot Springs Extravaganza!!!

We want to face the best Arkanasas, Oklahoma, and Texas players around...We so seldom get to compete against those guys!!

Gonna be fun!!
 
We will miss the TN Players coming up North - but can't wait to hear the reports from this GREAT new STATE put on by Jesse and crew!
