Ash's father

According to some old belief in my hood, Ash's father is dead and he doesn't want to talk about it. But like everything I have read here, its just rumor.

So Ash's father is a master trainer, which brings us full circle to, where is he? Why hasn't he come home?
Will Ash ever find his father?...."All this and more on the next exciting episode of Pokemon!":pokeball:

Sounds like you're as bad at drawing circles free hand as me.

We have an unsubstantiated dub comment. Some people think they here this. Unless a VA or the script indicate otherwise, it could just be wishful thinking. Even if it is an actual line from the show, it could mean just what 4Kids was debating adding in, probably on the hope/assumption that either Lance wouldn't ever be a major part of the series or that it could just be worked around. As I mentioned earlier, sometimes a series will be dubbed with such a plot change so long as at least one character involved isn't showing up all the time. Assuming its the same Lance from the Elite Four.

Lance doesn't strike me as being that old, either. Basically, he seems a few years older than Brock, or about the age of James and Jesse. For their age, one episode has them registering for something (I think it was the "testing out" to qualify for Indigo Plateau without the prerequisite number of badges) and using 17 as their ages. That could also be a dub line, or they could be lying, but I still wouldn't put them as older than, say, 21.

Nintendo/Game Freak/Pokemon Co./Whoever prety much rules out Giovanni in FRLG.

Smacking down a pervasive rumor AND making a reference to GS. I love the Fame Checker.

I wouldn't say that completely rules him out though. Maybe Ash was born before the creation of Team Rocket, and Giovanni has kept it a secret. I still think Giovanni makes the most sense.

1. Ash has the same color hair
2. Clues point that Ash doesn't know about his father other than that he was a trainer. Maybe Giovanni turned to the criminal path while Delia was pregnant with Ash. They split, and Delia not wanting Ash to know his father is a criminal, keeps his identity a secret.

IMHO, the Prof. Oak arguement doesn't hold water. If Oak was Ash's dad, why hasn't he told him by now? If it is Oak, why doesn't he live with Delia? If your guess to that question is divorce, why are they often together even when Ash isn't around? That relationship is obvious. Oak and Delia are lovers.

As for anybody else we've met, Ash always introduces himself as "Ash, from Pallet Town". If it were somebody we've already seen, wouldn't his father have said something like, "I have a family in Pallet Town", or something like that?

To be serious for a moment: Oak is probably a father figure to Delia. If her relationship(s) before were sufficiently bad, it makes sense for him to fill a "surrogate" parent role... and since she lives next door to his son perhaps she's the daughter he never had... or the daughter he secretly did have, even. Anyway, her relationship with Mr.Mime could be similar: he's a "male" figure... but not actually a man she could have a relationship of that nature with.

Maybe we don't know who Ash's father is because the writers wanted us to think that at the beggining he allways wanted to be a great Pokemon master like his father. They sort of foreshadowed by making us think that he will be like his father.

1.It has to be Giovanni i mean why is he stealing pokemon besides power? He is stealing pokemon
to be the "Pokemon Master ".

2.It could be lance i mean he is the pokemon leauge head guy isn't he i guess he is a master at
pokemon and Ash's father wanted to be a master so doesn't it make sense?

She found Mr Mime after they found the mime for the circus(<i think) and ash was born way after Mr Mime was found wasn't he? (I typed it based on memory). And if Dalia did have any relationship with Mr. Mime Ash would have mime powers don't you think?

To answer what you said:

1. I said a Mr.Mime, not the current one. However, who knows, maybe the old Mr.Mime was separated from her and just finally made his way back?

2. Ash's "will to win" and how it affects his Pokemon could be uncontrolled Psionic abilities manifesting themselves. Injured Pokemon seem to get a mysterious "second wind", likewise tired Pokemon. That represents the healing aspects of the abilities. Sometimes attacks seem more accurate or effective than they are. Perhaps Ash is psionically reinforcing them. ;)

And he was a natura in a Mr.Mime suit.

but mime doesn't have hair and Dalia's hair is brown so that wipes out lance and Mime so that leaves
Giovanni and Oak. Oak might have had dark hair when he was young and might of had ash when he did have dark hair. you're right Otaku you are so definitely right

Ummm in pokemon LF/FR at five island in the rocket warehouse doesn't one of the rockets mention
Giovanni having a kid?

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Otaku how do you become a pokemon proffesor?

Now that wouldn't make sense. Do you study genes(even basic ones) in Health?

Now, this is very basic(no advance or anything, just the basics).

Meaning, each parent has a Dr and a Dr(a dominant trait, the capital letter, and a recessive trait, the lowercase letter).

Now, the traits would pair up, with each other, making 4 new pairs.

So, if it were something like Bb(Brown capital, black lowercase) and Bb(Brown capital, black lower case), then a kid between the 2 could have....

BB(Brown hair)
Bb(Mix)
bB(Mix)
bb(Black hair)

Its a bad explanation(I'm sure someone here could do better), but it makes it possible for 2 different people, like Delia and Lance for example, to pass on both little b's, giving Ash black hair.

I'm loling at the fact that everyone thinks the characters that appear are the only characters that exist in that continuity. Ash's father most likely hasn't been shown yet, if he will at all. His father being someone like Giovanni would be a big streach, though a pretty cool plot twist.

Pretty sure it has black hair even, which you are so hung up on. It's just suffering from male pattern baldness. When Ash hits 30, you'll see.

Oh, and when he was young (about Ash's age), Sammy Oak's hair was brown. Remember, we got to see that in the Celebi movie.

To become a Pokemon Professor, head to the OP site and take the exam.

Y'know, he'll probably finally be revealed in some future movie. Until then, I dunno why they would introduce him in the Anime unless he would serve a huge role.

To tell you the truth, there is a person living with Ash's mother. It's MR. MIME. Anyone else notice this? I may question his presence there. Maybe it's JUST A COINCIDENCE that he is there....or maybe we have the father. If Mr. Mime and Ash's mother are in the same egg group.
yes,mr.minme is in the"human like" egg group. -.- wow.... one of the most looked to people in pokemon media might be a hybrid between a mime and a woman.....wow

wouldent you have a black dad if you black hair like me
my mom has brown
my dad has black
i have black
Nope. My mom has brown hair. My Dad has black (now greying XD) hair.

My sister has brown hair. Guess what I have?

...

Blonde!

It's darkened with age, but at most you'd call it a very light brown hair.

remember, alelles and genes are quite fun and usually they simplify it a lot in high school. If I remember correctly, it's actually possible for the genetic material needed for every natural hair color to be stored in just two people. I can't remember the specifics and I don't know about shading issues, but what there's blonde, red, brown, and black for core hair colors? Okay, assuming I wasn't braindead and forgot one, you could have two people who each have one gene for two of the types. Specicially breaking down those four into two groups. So they'd just show the dominant genes. Then their kids would start splitting up those genes. The dominant genes would mean that the hair colors might not differ much, but odds are later children would finally start showing the different colors. I think. I am not feeling so well right now and typed this in a hurry so if I totally spaced on a basic hair color or some hereditary info... sorry. >_<

Anyway, just to make things extra fun: what if Delia Ketchum dies her hair? Or whoever ends up being Ash's Dad?
