Attacking a Pokemon with Weakness/Resist. to the same attack.. what happens?

Take Medicham CG, for example. If Cham CG has the appropriate energy attached to activate Dual Armor.. and they attack Lugia ex, how would that work?

Lugia ex is weak to Psychic and resistant to Fighting. So, would you double up for weakness, then minus 3 damage counters.. or vice versa?

I can't think of who else this would work with, just a few others with Dual Armor.. but not the right Pokemon to receive the damage.. except for Scyther UF, there's probably others.
