Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Autumn Battle Road 10/13 Hobby Works, Fairfax, VA

Johnny gets a job to pay for his pokemon cards. Then he can't play in tourneys because of his job..... It's all so sad :frown:

It requires a paper more fiberous than paper we normally use.

Fact: the item that paper gets its name from, papyrus, is not considered real paper.

Trouble in paradise?

Dan can't drive tomorrow. I have to ask my parents for a ride, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get one. It's looking like I won't show.

Show them your ranking, Woop!!!! Rankings = Worlds = Scholarships (if I were a parent, that argument would work on me..... hey, wait a minute)

My parents are far from Pokemon fans, scholarships or no scholarships. They're busy on Saturday anyway. I won't be there, sorry guys.

I guess somebody else will have to lend Mike a Lucario Lv. X this time. Ugh, this is super lame. Sean was gonna get his Pokemon on, too! =(

Yeah, Superwooper, show them your ranking now before Jonathan Anderson comes down here and sends it plummetting below 1600 *nods*

Carpooling is nice, but it's also good to be able to drive should that option not be available :thumb:

Let's all pray I don't fail my sleep check tomorrow morning

Ummm, you better not, JUDGE Timothy --I'll see you around 11:00 ish for set up. Show up late, and you get the juniors! Show up by 11:00, and I'll do the juniors....

Fairfax is over! Winners-

Juniors- Dean (Blissey)
Seniors- Patrick (Blissey)
Masters- Tanner (Blissey)

So sad... Blissey took over....

Three TRUKs sped through Fairfax. I almost wanted the Delta deck to win just for variation.

Overall fun day. For those wondering, I was successful on my (fourth) sleep check and got to Hobby Works 3 minutes before 11am.

Nice pictures! Especially Tim the scholar(I'm laughing at him in the background) and Helen holding up the DP3 pack with the "admiring fans" in the background.

That scholar pic is going on my facebook

totoro, I want that one pic that comes after you explained the card incorrectly .

Keep laughing Fox McCloud. Following up on what you said on Saturday: Blastoise-d and Almaldo-d are both Fighting/Metal-type and are in the current Modified. Certain Lightning-type Pokemon, like Magneton (PK), Raichu (MT), and Electivire lvX (MT) are Fighting-weak and Metal-resistant. So, you must know in what order to apply W&R

Mr. ShadowCard, the test was for judging prereleases. There are no dual type Pokemon in DP sets. I got all the important questions right(I think). Can I have a copy of the test and my answer sheet:lol: so I can look over it?

The test was for judging. It is not possible to make a test for judging prereleases because it isn't known what will be in the set. You may know what is in the Japanese sets, but you don't know what is going to be in the English sets, unless you're Water Pokemon Master . It was a big shock to see Time-Space Distortion in the Mysterious Treasures set, for example. POP is free to insert whatever cards they want into a DP set (again, TSD for example) or in POP sets. That also means that you would have to be retested before every prerelease with a test customized to the set. I don't have that advanced knowledge - I'm a league leader, not a psychic.

Old rulings resurface in new cards, and you have to know those old rulings to make new rulings. Knowing how Sand Attack works solves a lot of different rulings, even in a set where no pokemon has Sand Attack. There will be events that you don't get the FAQ in time and have to rely on past rulings to make current rulings. If you're unsatisfied with what I think you should know, I'm told totoro gives quite the formidable test; perhaps you want to give one of his a try? I can see it now:

a pokemon test of totoro's imagined by Shadowcard said:
5) If a Pikachu sends 30 watts of electricity through 4 moles of distilled water using Thundershock, which way should the Defending Pokemon be turned to indicate that it is Paralyzed if Cerulean City Gym is not in play?

I don't have the answer sheets, I threw them away. Considering you all wrote them on food-papers, I wasn't going to keep them.

Shadow, you should know that DH2O is a really lousy conductor of electricity. Now, a solution of, say, NaCl in H2O,--that's a whole other story!

Now, stop spammin' up my thread or I'll sick SD Pokemom on ya!
