I think the card azelf would make hydreigon and darkri ex one of the top decks again.....You could possibly move all the special energy cards to there active pokemon and then knock it out. Because it goes effect then the attack damage. Or you could just move the energy's to a pokemon that wouldn't help them at all. There are so many people using plasma energy's now. Sure azelf may get knocked out but its worth it.

Azelf – Psychic – HP60
Basic Pokemon

[C] Switch: Switch this Pokemon with one of your Benched Pokemon.
[P][C][C] Psy Jamming: Move any number of Special Energy cards attached to your opponent’s Pokemon to his or her other Pokemon in any way you like.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

I could see this being good for mewtwo or deoxys who do more damage for each energy attached to the opponent's pokemon -- but how would darkrai and hydreigon fit? Unless you mean you'd play that to combat azelf?

He means you'd tech it INTO darkrai/hydreigon, to give it an easy "out" against big basic decks running special energies.

I think he's saying that you could put Azelf in Darkrai/Hydreigon to mess with other special energy heavy decks. (EDIT: Ninja'd)

I think it's a neat idea, but Azelf is still OHKOd pretty easily because of Colress Machine and whatnot, and you would lose 3 energies when it is KO'd. I don't think it's worth it.

It's one of those things you'd drop super lategame after an N to one or two.

Yea i never said you could get out azelf right away....there is also prism energy's you can move around. I mean you pretty much just wasted a lot or all of your opponents special energy cards when you put it down in a hydreigon deck.....you can choose if you do want to put it down or just dont put it down remember.....this card is a late game card or a semi late game card for hydreigon decks.

That didnt make since Nes. And that verizion ex would be great in hydreigon.....so hypno toxic laser wouldn't even effect on mespert if verizion ex is out. And mesperts attack is just really needed for one turn......And you could move them all on deoxyes and possible knock him out if it has fourty or more damage on it.....if they have one out/

how doesnt it make sense get active down to 30 then move all special to active and it dies because of hypnotoxic and virbank, they lose there special energies.

I don't see it having any potential whatsoever. It has 60hp and the entire idea of moving energies is to conserve your energy count in Hydreigon. 60hp to move special energies which costs 3 energies to use that attack and then the stupid pokemon is ko'd on your opponents next turn by LOTs of different pokemon.

Absol
Landorus + laser
Cobalion + laser
Mewtwo
Kyurem + Laser (or deoxys)
Deoxys
Thunders + laser (or deoxys)

All cards that are huge in the format.
Not to mention there would be Virizion ex + laser for 2 energies.
It's too high a risk of a card, for 1 attack costs your 3 energies on the board just to move your specials.
Not worth it.

The only deck that revolves around abusing special energy is TDK and by the time Azelf comes out, we should also be getting Silver Mirror which already hard counters the deck.

Who knows though, only time will tell whether this card will be used. Right now though, the only reason i would think someone would be using this card is for Mesprit (used alongside Uxie) to give all of your pokemon no weakness.

If they knock out azelf you now have dark energy's in the discard pile....and dark patch takes energy out of the discard pile....did you take this in account?.....Anunkown how can you say this is clunky you just need three energy's on it. And its just one card in a hydreigon deck also. And your not likely to start with this card and you choose when you need to put it down. You already screwed up your opponent. And you can also have verizion ex tech so special conditions wont effect any pokemon with special energy's on it.

Sorry nes i thought you meant some thing elise.

Considering this would be a late game tech; how many Dark Patch would be left in the deck? Let's not forget that it takes 3 energy to do this damage-less attack; If you're going to use this card, then it better guarantee you the win. This would all rely on what deck you're up against, and considering how Darkrai/Hydreigon key strengh is keeping energy in play it doesn't have the speed that a Straight Darkrai deck would have due to fitting in Rare Candy and the Hydreigon line. However saying that, a T2 Darkrai Ex is still possible to set up, but it needs more cards to pull this off in this deck. Also, with how the format has become alot more aggressive, would Azelf really be a good "one-of" in such a deck? It's really does seem like one of those format dependant cards.

Also, does Darkrai/Hydreigon really need this card in order to win out against TDK? You can already deny prizes with Max potion. Crushing Hammer or even Enhanced Hammer would seem like a nicer play, because you can play these cards early game and retrieve them with Sableye forcing you opponent to use Raiden Knuckle more then intended, or just discard their special energy and use Night Spear for the turn. You'll still be taking quite a bit of damage but if you can set them back a few turns early game then why not?

Like i said before though, time will tell whether this card is playable in a competitive environment or not. It has potential.

Only could have azelf or or take stuff out and put in three enhanced hammers in i would go with azelf....loosing the energy's isnt really that big of deal any ways if your scared of that you could play superior energy retrieval. And you still have dark patch.....It might need i dont know it depends. Its good for other stuff also.

It might be debilitating late game, but remember that Plasma Box has a lot of resources. They still have Thundurus to get back energies, and have Scramble Switch to get out the Pokemon they need. They also have things like Colress Machine to accelerate next turn, as well as Shadow Triad to get back things like Colress Machine.

I could see Azelf working in a deck with something like Dusknoir, maybe. You could theoretically move all damage counters to the active except 1, play laser, and then use Azelf's attack to put all the energies on the active, and when it gets knocked out in between turns, your opponent loses all of their energies.

It would take a LOT of set up, though. Seems like way too much set-up lol.
