Azumarill as a Donphan counter?

Laxation

New Member
Tyranitar is my favourite, and I'd love to make him work.
I have tried teching in a 1-1-1 Samurott to counter donphan, which works pretty well, especially with serperior, but it is a little hard to get out.

So I was wondering about Azumarill...
60 + chance for paralyse for :water::colorless::colorless:
I would be using rainbow energies most likely.

How do you reckon this would work? Is it better than Samurott? Possibly a 2-2 Azumarill in place of 1-1-1 Samurott (since it doesn't have the staying power)

**just looked through more water cards, and what about Gyarados also?

You really shouldn't need to hit donphan for weakness to counter him.
If donphan is big in your meta, just bump your mandibuzz line.
if you really want, put in a 1-0-1 or even 1-1-1 or 2-1-1 kingdra line...its hard to really suggest without seeing a decklist

If your hitting for weakness there's swanna from emerging powers which does 70 for :water::colorless::colorless: and discard an energy attached to swanna. It also has resistance to :fighting:.

^And Kyurem.

As far as in a Tyranitar deck though, Basculin is best because T-Tar can get flail damage on for him.
