Badge Polishing

Has anyone else noticed that you can "polish" your badges to make them shine? When I saw my badges I noticed they were really dull and thought that odd, and was just messing around tapping the badges (the "ding" when you tap them, also) and heard a squeeking noise and saw a badge got a little shinier. You have to "rub" the badge with the sylus over and over again. Rubbing in a circle seemed to it the fastest for me. There are like 6 levels of shine or something, up to the point each badge has 4 "stars" on it. I don't know if this only becomes available after you get all 8, because I had 8 when I noticed it.

Just go to your trainer card and touch the square at the bottom.

I just noticed it a few days ago. I was playing with them (acting like a piano w/ the sounds) and then one lighted up. I was like...wha? So I keep going back and forth on them and they started to shine. Nice little touch.

Yeah, I noticed this quite early on. Completely pointless, but a nice touch non-the-less

How long did that take?

to get them all to shine to 4 stars, i think there are like 6 different shine "levels" you have to go thru, so like about a maximum time of 1-2 minutes per badge i guess, give or take.
